聿懷中(zhong)學創(chuang)辦于(yu)1877年,是汕頭(tou)市(shi)歷史悠久的學校之一,在粵東地區享有“一校五院士”的美(mei)譽。學校系廣東省國家級示范性普通高中(zhong)、廣東省一級學校、金平區重點(dian)中(zhong)學。
學校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)現(xian)有校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)本部、大洋校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)區兩個校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)區,60個教(jiao)學班,3600余名(ming)學生。教(jiao)職工260余人(ren),專任教(jiao)師(shi)(shi)210人(ren),其中(zhong)特級(ji)(ji)教(jiao)師(shi)(shi)3人(ren),高級(ji)(ji)教(jiao)師(shi)(shi)56人(ren),一級(ji)(ji)教(jiao)師(shi)(shi)43人(ren)。學校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)先后有多(duo)位老師(shi)(shi)獲得全國優秀教(jiao)師(shi)(shi)、南粵(yue)優秀教(jiao)師(shi)(shi)、省勞動模范(fan)、汕(shan)頭市(shi)名(ming)教(jiao)師(shi)(shi)、汕(shan)頭市(shi)優秀教(jiao)師(shi)(shi)、汕(shan)頭市(shi)優秀班主任、汕(shan)頭市(shi)教(jiao)學教(jiao)研先進個人(ren)等榮譽稱號。

1877年(nian),英國傳教士(shi)(shi)汲約(yue)(yue)翰(han)籌(chou)建校(xiao)舍一座于張園前之(zhi)長(chang)老會圍(wei)墻內(nei),可容學(xue)生數(shu)十(shi)人。校(xiao)舍落成,即行開辦。校(xiao)長(chang)一職,由汲約(yue)(yue)翰(han)博士(shi)(shi)兼(jian)攝(she)。此即聿懷中(zhong)學(xue)之(zhi)前身。
1879年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian),聿(yu)懷(huai)(huai)聘(pin)(pin)白威廉先(xian)生(sheng)專任(ren)校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)長(chang),學(xue)(xue)(xue)校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)雖(sui)學(xue)(xue)(xue)額無多,設備簡(jian)單,然(ran)已樹嶺東(dong)設立學(xue)(xue)(xue)校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)先(xian)聲(sheng)。迨1913年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian),乃(nai)另擇(ze)校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)址(zhi)于汕頭市崎(qi)碌吳(wu)家(jia)祠后,購地二(er)(er)十余(yu)畝(mu),建筑新校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)舍一(yi)座(zuo),可容學(xue)(xue)(xue)生(sheng)六(liu)七十人(ren)(ren)。當(dang)時(shi)汕市之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)學(xue)(xue)(xue),鮮有可與倫(lun)比者。1915年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian),新校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)舍落(luo)成,即(ji)行遷(qian)(qian)入。是后得侯乙初(chu)(chu)、吳(wu)國維(wei)兩位賢牧之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)助,校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)務(wu)發(fa)達(da),造就益多。1919年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian),因(yin)環境及教(jiao)會(hui)(hui)政策關系,聿(yu)懷(huai)(huai)歸并于汕頭華(hua)英(ying)學(xue)(xue)(xue)校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)。1925年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian),華(hua)英(ying)因(yin)故停辦(ban)(ban)。于是中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)華(hua)基督(du)教(jiao)會(hui)(hui)汕頭區會(hui)(hui),遂通過恢復聿(yu)懷(huai)(huai)中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)學(xue)(xue)(xue)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)議案(an)(an)。并舉派(pai)校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)董十三人(ren)(ren),組織校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)董會(hui)(hui),籌(chou)劃(hua)進行。1929年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)秋,聿(yu)懷(huai)(huai)中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)學(xue)(xue)(xue)遂告復活,委任(ren)陳澤霖為(wei)(wei)校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)長(chang)。1932年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian),初(chu)(chu)中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)部奉準(zhun)立案(an)(an)。1933年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian),奉準(zhun)開辦(ban)(ban)高中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)師(shi)范(fan)科(ke)(ke)。1934年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian),奉準(zhun)改辦(ban)(ban)高中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)師(shi)范(fan)科(ke)(ke)為(wei)(wei)普通高級中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)學(xue)(xue)(xue)。1935年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)6月,高中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)奉準(zhun)立案(an)(an)。1937年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)秋,抗戰爆發(fa),陳澤霖校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)長(chang)帶領師(shi)生(sheng)內(nei)遷(qian)(qian)揭西五經(jing)(jing)富(fu),以堅毅(yi)卓絕,無畏無懼(ju)的(de)氣概(gai)堅持辦(ban)(ban)學(xue)(xue)(xue)。該校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)教(jiao)職(zhi)員,雖(sui)聚處窮鄉僻壤之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)五經(jing)(jing)富(fu),無論生(sheng)活之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)如何壓(ya)迫,其教(jiao)育(yu)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)職(zhi)志,始終不渝。勤勤懇懇,夙夜匪(fei)懈。1945年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)秋,倭寇投(tou)降,國土(tu)重光(guang),該校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)即(ji)遷(qian)(qian)回汕頭復課(ke),暫假外馬路花園內(nei)西教(jiao)士住宅貝理學(xue)(xue)(xue)院(yuan)淑德女學(xue)(xue)(xue)及男女醫院(yuan)為(wei)(wei)臨時(shi)校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)舍。1946年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)7月,陳澤霖校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)長(chang)赴(fu)美留學(xue)(xue)(xue),乃(nai)聘(pin)(pin)任(ren)卓效良先(xian)生(sheng)為(wei)(wei)代理校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)長(chang)。卓校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)長(chang)經(jing)(jing)一(yi)暑期之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)努力,始于是年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)九月遷(qian)(qian)回原址(zhi)上課(ke)。在學(xue)(xue)(xue)學(xue)(xue)(xue)生(sheng),為(wei)(wei)數(shu)一(yi)千一(yi)百余(yu)名,教(jiao)職(zhi)員逾六(liu)十人(ren)(ren)。而二(er)(er)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)來(lai)高中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)畢業生(sheng)升(sheng)學(xue)(xue)(xue)者,亦達(da)六(liu)七十人(ren)(ren)。校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)譽日(ri)隆,社(she)會(hui)(hui)共(gong)識,培(pei)育(yu)出包括專家(jia)、院(yuan)士、將(jiang)軍等在內(nei)的(de)大批人(ren)(ren)才。
1953年,聿懷更名為“汕(shan)頭市第(di)三中(zhong)學(xue)”。自此,雖經歷任(ren)校長嘔血奮(fen)爭,但因其教會學(xue)校的(de)前(qian)身,而每每成為整治的(de)重點(dian),元(yuan)氣與日俱衰。
1985年2月(yue)2日,學校(xiao)召開了有歷任校(xiao)長(chang)陳(chen)仲豪(hao)、陳(chen)衍之、張思明(ming)、陳(chen)鶴鳴、廖(liao)烈南等參加的征詢會(hui),會(hui)上(shang)大家一(yi)致贊同(tong)恢(hui)復(fu)校(xiao)名(ming),遂(sui)上(shang)書(shu)市教育局(ju)、市政府(fu),得到時任教育局(ju)長(chang)黃海同(tong)志支持。同(tong)年3月(yue)16日汕頭市政府(fu)下文(wen)同(tong)意恢(hui)復(fu)聿懷校(xiao)名(ming),并由時任市委常委的陳(chen)厚實同(tong)志親自在全校(xiao)師生員工(gong)大會(hui)上(shang)宣布這一(yi)決定(ding)。自此,三中成為歷史,聿懷翻開了她新(xin)的一(yi)頁。
恢復校(xiao)名(ming)后,在楊子權校(xiao)長(chang)的帶領下,聿懷(huai)乘勢而上,高舉(ju)“和衷共濟(ji),光大聿懷(huai)”的旗幟。對內,把聿懷(huai)的教(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)育(yu)(yu)教(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)學(xue)發展放(fang)在頭等重(zhong)要的地位(wei)(wei)(wei)擺到(dao)議(yi)事日程,一心一意抓教(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)學(xue),全力(li)以赴打造(zao)校(xiao)風;對外,廣泛聯絡(luo)聿懷(huai)(三中(zhong)(zhong))海內外校(xiao)友(you),得袁經綸、陳(chen)有漢(han)等諸(zhu)位(wei)(wei)(wei)校(xiao)友(you)襄(xiang)助(zhu),經十余年櫛風沐雨之艱苦奮斗(dou),先(xian)后建成初中(zhong)(zhong)教(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)學(xue)樓、高中(zhong)(zhong)教(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)學(xue)樓、陳(chen)有漢(han)科學(xue)館、有漢(han)樓、有漢(han)文化中(zhong)(zhong)心諸(zhu)樓校(xiao)舍,而于教(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)育(yu)(yu)教(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)學(xue)、設(she)備設(she)施(shi)等亦日趨(qu)完備,遂(sui)于1994年被評為廣東省一級學(xue)校(xiao)。嗣后,聿懷(huai)著力(li)內涵發展,教(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)育(yu)(yu)教(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)學(xue)質量逐步位(wei)(wei)(wei)居潮汕前列(lie),以校(xiao)風和教(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)育(yu)(yu)加工功能強(qiang)名(ming)著粵東。初中(zhong)(zhong)部更長(chang)期(qi)執汕市各校(xiao)之牛耳。
1999年,鄭林坤校(xiao)(xiao)長(chang)繼任,秉聿(yu)(yu)懷(huai)(huai)(huai)傳(chuan)統,揚先(xian)賢宏志,高揚“崇(chong)尚科學(xue)(xue)(xue),追求創新(xin)”之旗幟,著力打造“品牌聿(yu)(yu)懷(huai)(huai)(huai)、和諧聿(yu)(yu)懷(huai)(huai)(huai)、人文聿(yu)(yu)懷(huai)(huai)(huai)、精致聿(yu)(yu)懷(huai)(huai)(huai)”,信(xin)息化(hua)(hua)遍及校(xiao)(xiao)園,建成(cheng)(cheng)汕(shan)頭市第一所實現(xian)新(xin)“三機一幕”進每一間(jian)課室、辦公室之學(xue)(xue)(xue)校(xiao)(xiao),信(xin)息化(hua)(hua)特(te)色卓現(xian),乃于2000年被評為(wei)(wei)全(quan)國(guo)現(xian)代教育(yu)技術實驗學(xue)(xue)(xue)校(xiao)(xiao)。2002年,因應學(xue)(xue)(xue)校(xiao)(xiao)規模化(hua)(hua)發(fa)展(zhan)(zhan)(zhan)之需(xu)要(yao),學(xue)(xue)(xue)校(xiao)(xiao)實施(shi)初(chu)、高中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)分離,創辦聿(yu)(yu)懷(huai)(huai)(huai)初(chu)級(ji)中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)學(xue)(xue)(xue)。至此,聿(yu)(yu)懷(huai)(huai)(huai)發(fa)展(zhan)(zhan)(zhan)為(wei)(wei)包(bao)含聿(yu)(yu)懷(huai)(huai)(huai)初(chu)級(ji)中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)學(xue)(xue)(xue)、聿(yu)(yu)懷(huai)(huai)(huai)中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)學(xue)(xue)(xue)兩個(ge)學(xue)(xue)(xue)校(xiao)(xiao)84個(ge)教學(xue)(xue)(xue)班,名師(shi)薈萃(cui),學(xue)(xue)(xue)生近5000人的(de)(de)(de)“大聿(yu)(yu)懷(huai)(huai)(huai)”。而聿(yu)(yu)懷(huai)(huai)(huai)高中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)教育(yu)之質量亦突飛猛進,連年穩(wen)居全(quan)市“五虎將”行列(lie),成(cheng)(cheng)為(wei)(wei)潮汕(shan)學(xue)(xue)(xue)子夢寐以求之學(xue)(xue)(xue)苑(yuan)明珠。學(xue)(xue)(xue)校(xiao)(xiao)之獨特(te)的(de)(de)(de)教育(yu)精神——聿(yu)(yu)懷(huai)(huai)(huai)精神也初(chu)步形成(cheng)(cheng)。2006年,為(wei)(wei)謀新(xin)發(fa)展(zhan)(zhan)(zhan),聿(yu)(yu)懷(huai)(huai)(huai)申報了國(guo)家(jia)級(ji)示范(fan)性普通高級(ji)中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)學(xue)(xue)(xue),可以想見,未來的(de)(de)(de)聿(yu)(yu)懷(huai)(huai)(huai),必(bi)將更(geng)加絢麗多彩(cai),未來的(de)(de)(de)聿(yu)(yu)懷(huai)(huai)(huai),必(bi)將實現(xian)新(xin)的(de)(de)(de)跨(kua)越發(fa)展(zhan)(zhan)(zhan)。
