孫祿堂 ——武學宗師
孫祿堂(tang)(tang)天(tian)(tian)(tian)資聰穎,勤奮好學(xue),9歲喪父,家(jia)(jia)中一貧如(ru)洗(xi),由老母撫養成人(ren)。他(ta)喜愛武(wu)術,曾拜一位江湖(hu)拳(quan)(quan)師(shi)學(xue)習少林(lin)拳(quan)(quan)術,時(shi)間雖短,但他(ta)好學(xue)苦練,練得(de)(de)一身(shen)好功夫。11歲時(shi)背井(jing)離(li)鄉(xiang),去保定一家(jia)(jia)毛筆店做學(xue)徒。13歲時(shi)孫祿堂(tang)(tang)拜河北省名(ming)拳(quan)(quan)師(shi)李魁元(yuan)(yuan)為師(shi),學(xue)習形意(yi)拳(quan)(quan),同(tong)時(shi)文(wen)武(wu)兼(jian)學(xue)。兩年(nian)(nian)后,孫的(de)(de)武(wu)藝(yi)出類拔(ba)萃,李魁元(yuan)(yuan)便把他(ta)推(tui)薦給自(zi)己的(de)(de)師(shi)傅郭云深(shen)繼續深(shen)造(zao)。不久他(ta)便把形意(yi)拳(quan)(quan)的(de)(de)真功學(xue)到(dao)手(shou)。然而他(ta)并不滿足,還繼續尋(xun)師(shi)學(xue)藝(yi),到(dao)北京(jing)跟(gen)八(ba)卦(gua)(gua)掌名(ming)師(shi),程廷華(hua)(hua)學(xue)藝(yi),由于孫祿堂(tang)(tang)本(ben)來功底深(shen)厚,又得(de)(de)程師(shi)竭力指教(jiao),苦練年(nian)(nian)余,盡得(de)(de)八(ba)卦(gua)(gua)拳(quan)(quan)的(de)(de)精髓(sui)。為使他(ta)經風雨見世面,廣識神州武(wu)林(lin)各(ge)派之(zhi)精華(hua)(hua),追本(ben)求源,掙脫師(shi)法(fa)樊(fan)籬(li),日后自(zi)成一家(jia)(jia),便誠(cheng)懇地勸(quan)他(ta)離(li)師(shi)門去四海訪藝(yi)。1886年(nian)(nian)春,孫祿堂(tang)(tang)只身(shen)徙步壯游南北11省,期間訪少林(lin),朝(chao)武(wu)當,上峨嵋,聞有藝(yi)者必訪之(zhi),逢(feng)人(ren)較技(ji)未遇對手(shou)。1888年(nian)(nian)他(ta)返歸(gui)故里,同(tong)年(nian)(nian)在家(jia)(jia)鄉(xiang)創辦了蒲陽拳(quan)(quan)社,廣收(shou)門徒。孫祿堂(tang)(tang)早年(nian)(nian)精研形意(yi)拳(quan)(quan),師(shi)從(cong)李魁元(yuan)(yuan),復從(cong)郭云深(shen),共十一年(nian)(nian),其間又得(de)(de)宋(song)世榮、車毅齋、白西園諸前輩親授(shou),加之(zhi)孫祿堂(tang)(tang)天(tian)(tian)(tian)資彌高、性情恬淡,故孫之(zhi)形意(yi)拳(quan)(quan)功夫能(neng)(neng)超(chao)逸前代(dai),功臻沖空化(hua)境。繼而孫祿堂(tang)(tang)為了研究拳(quan)(quan)與(yu)《易》之(zhi)關(guan)系,又從(cong)程廷華(hua)(hua)研習八(ba)卦(gua)(gua)拳(quan)(quan)數(shu)(shu)月,多(duo)有心得(de)(de),技(ji)藝(yi)精深(shen),但絲毫無自(zi)得(de)(de)之(zhi)意(yi)。年(nian)(nian)余后,程廷華(hua)(hua)稱贊道:“吾授(shou)徒數(shu)(shu)百,從(cong)未有天(tian)(tian)(tian)資聰慧(hui)復能(neng)(neng)專心潛學(xue)如(ru)弟(di)者。吾與(yu)弟(di)意(yi)氣相投,故將余技(ji)盡傳(chuan)之(zhi)。弟(di)生有宿慧(hui)始能(neng)(neng)達此。
1907年(nian)(nian)東三(san)省總督徐世昌久聞孫(sun)(sun)(sun)祿(lu)堂武(wu)(wu)功絕(jue)倫,由此聘他(ta)為(wei)幕賓,同(tong)往東北,1909年(nian)(nian)孫(sun)(sun)(sun)隨徐返回北京(jing)。1912年(nian)(nian)孫(sun)(sun)(sun)祿(lu)堂在北京(jing)遇太極(ji)名(ming)家(jia)郝為(wei)真。郝將自己所習太極(ji)拳(quan)之(zhi)心得(de)傳于孫(sun)(sun)(sun)祿(lu)堂。此時(shi)孫(sun)(sun)(sun)祿(lu)堂武(wu)(wu)功卓絕(jue),德(de)高(gao)望(wang)重,譽滿(man)京(jing)城。1918年(nian)(nian)孫(sun)(sun)(sun)祿(lu)堂終于將三(san)家(jia)合冶一爐(lu),融會貫通,革故鼎新,創立了孫(sun)(sun)(sun)氏太極(ji)拳(quan),卓然自成一家(jia)。同(tong)年(nian)(nian)徐世昌請孫(sun)(sun)(sun)祿(lu)堂入總統府(fu),任(ren)武(wu)(wu)宣官。1928年(nian)(nian)3月,南京(jing)中央國術(shu)館(guan)(guan)成立,孫(sun)(sun)(sun)受聘為(wei)該(gai)館(guan)(guan)武(wu)(wu)當門門長,7月,又被聘為(wei)江蘇省國術(shu)館(guan)(guan)副館(guan)(guan)長兼教務長。孫(sun)(sun)(sun)祿(lu)堂晚年(nian)(nian),正值列強環伺(si),國力(li)衰微,民(min)族危亡日(ri)趨嚴重,在外(wai)侮面前,孫(sun)(sun)(sun)大義凜(lin)然,在他(ta)年(nian)(nian)近半(ban)百時(shi),曾(ceng)信手擊昏(hun)挑戰(zhan)的俄(e)國著(zhu)名(ming)格(ge)斗家(jia)彼得(de)洛夫,年(nian)(nian)逾(yu)花甲(jia)時(shi),力(li)挫日(ri)本天皇欽(qin)命大武(wu)(wu)士板(ban)垣一雄,古稀之(zhi)年(nian)(nian),又一舉擊敗日(ri)本5名(ming)技術(shu)高(gao)手的聯(lian)合挑戰(zhan),故在武(wu)(wu)林中不虛有虎頭少(shao)保,天下第一手的美稱。
先(xian)生(sheng)一生(sheng)以(yi)教拳為(wei)業,足跡(ji)遍祖國各地。年(nian)邁七旬,應聘為(wei)中央國術(shu)館武(wu)當門(men)門(men)長,嗣后(hou)為(wei)江蘇省國術(shu)館教務長。先(xian)生(sheng)教學循(xun)循(xun)善誘,其(qi)弟(di)子較著(zhu)名(ming)者如:靳云(yun)(yun)亭、李潤如、陳(chen)微明(ming)、沙國政等(deng),其(qi)子孫存周,其(qi)女孫劍(jian)云(yun)(yun)亦均(jun)能傳其(qi)父業。先(xian)生(sheng)一生(sheng)弟(di)子眾多,遍布海內外,小女孫劍(jian)云(yun)(yun)女士是曾(ceng)任孫氏(shi)太極(ji)拳研究(jiu)會(hui)會(hui)長,孫氏(shi)太極(ji)拳的第(di)二代(dai)掌門(men)人(ren)。1915年(nian)到1932期間,孫祿堂除(chu)撰寫了(le)《太極(ji)拳學》外、還(huan)先(xian)后(hou)著(zhu)述《形意拳學》、《八卦(gua)(gua)掌學》、《拳意述真》、《八卦(gua)(gua)劍(jian)學》、《論(lun)拳術(shu)內外家之別(bie)》等(deng)重要專著(zhu)和文(wen)章。1933年(nian)冬天(tian)他無疾而終,享(xiang)年(nian)73歲。

孫公祿堂先生門子(zi)弟(di)(di)子(zi)遍海內,傳承至今,歷盡數代(dai)(dai),國內傳承地(di)區(qu)(qu)主要有東北(bei)(bei)地(di)區(qu)(qu)、津京地(di)區(qu)(qu)、河北(bei)(bei)定興萬(wan)縣(xian)、江浙(zhe)一帶(dai)及(ji)湖(hu)北(bei)(bei)四川(chuan)等地(di),一代(dai)(dai)二代(dai)(dai)弟(di)(di)子(zi)皆(jie)為各界佼(jiao)佼(jiao)者(zhe)。

大事年表
1860年即咸豐十年十一月十五日(ri)申時(shi),孫祿堂先生誕生。
1865年(nian),先生入私塾。
1867年,先(xian)生喪父,遂綴學。
1868年—1872年,先生從吳(wu)某(mou)習內功(gong)、輕功(gong)、散手(shou)及暗器。
1872年(nian)年(nian)關,因母病重,先生(sheng)愧(kui)悔自己無奉養之(zhi)(zhi)能于夜(ye)半在村外棗林自縊。清(qing)晨被(bei)路人(ren)救起,因感先生(sheng)骨脈絕(jue)人(ren),資助之(zhi)(zhi)。遂(sui)之(zhi)(zhi)攜(xie)母投保(bao)定一(yi)親友,學制毛筆。同年(nian),被(bei)保(bao)定名拳家李(li)奎(kui)元看中,收為弟子。從李(li)修形意拳兼習文。
1875年,李師見先生修武殆有天授,恐誤先生日后(hou)前程,遂(sui)將先生薦于(yu)李之師郭云深處,從(cong)此(ci)先生從(cong)郭云深深造(zao)形意拳8年。
1878年,先生隨郭云(yun)深遷往西陵。結識劉曉蘭(lan)、宋世榮(rong)等。
1880年,先生隨郭往白(bai)西(xi)園(yuan)處,得白(bai)西(xi)園(yuan)傳贈形意(yi)拳(quan)拳(quan)譜。并得白(bai)西(xi)園(yuan)傳授(shou)武(wu)醫之(zhi)道。由是,先生欲(yu)參《易》修拳(quan),以發(fa)明(ming)光(guang)大此(ci)拳(quan)譜之(zhi)奧蘊。同年,先生隨郭赴晉訪車毅齋、宋世榮等(deng)。在晉期間(jian),先生與門內(nei)外同人(ren)廣(guang)泛(fan)交流切磋,未嘗負(fu)之(zhi)。郭云深贊先生曰(yue):“此(ci)子真能不辱其(qi)師。”
1881年,宋世榮來信邀先生(sheng)(sheng)再往(wang)晉(jin)論拳。不久先生(sheng)(sheng)持(chi)信訪晉(jin),得宋講論內(nei)經及(ji)煉神(shen)還虛之法并論及(ji)內(nei)外家之別。由是,先生(sheng)(sheng)內(nei)功(gong)進至虛境。之后,先生(sheng)(sheng)再返郭云(yun)深處,與郭共同研究形意拳理法,遂得出形意拳之三(san)步功(gong)夫、三(san)層道(dao)理、三(san)種(zhong)練法。
1882年,先生為深(shen)究拳與《易》之關系,經郭云深(shen)舉(ju)薦,先生赴京(jing)城,從程庭華(hua)研習八卦拳。
1883年,南(nan)(nan)(nan)方某武師(shi)(shi)北上京城,專訪各派名(ming)師(shi)(shi)較(jiao)(jiao)技(ji),所向披靡。后訪至(zhi)程(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)庭華,程(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)之(zhi)同(tong)門與南(nan)(nan)(nan)人(ren)(ren)較(jiao)(jiao),皆不敵(di)。程(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)為避其銳,數日閉門不出(chu)。時先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)新到程(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)處不久,僅研習轉掌數月,未(wei)被程(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)師(shi)(shi)列入門內,故(gu)未(wei)請先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)。然先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)自愿要求代程(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)師(shi)(shi)與南(nan)(nan)(nan)人(ren)(ren)一(yi)較(jiao)(jiao)。比試中,先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)一(yi)出(chu)手即將南(nan)(nan)(nan)人(ren)(ren)由屋內擊出(chu)窗外。南(nan)(nan)(nan)人(ren)(ren)深服之(zhi)。程(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)師(shi)(shi)亦大喜過望,遂(sui)授先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)八(ba)(ba)卦拳(quan)理法及(ji)點(dian)穴、輕功、八(ba)(ba)卦劍、七星桿等(deng)絕技(ji)。因先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)之(zhi)形(xing)意拳(quan)已臻化(hua)境(jing),故(gu)僅習數月,先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)即得(de)八(ba)(ba)卦拳(quan)之(zhi)精微(wei)。由是,先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)感悟出(chu)形(xing)意拳(quan)與八(ba)(ba)卦拳(quan)其理實相(xiang)通耳(er)。
1884年(nian)秋,先生(sheng)已通悟八卦拳。切磋(cuo)較技(ji)(ji),未遇其匹。程師遂(sui)勸(quan)先生(sheng)效當年(nian)董公海川(chuan)訪(fang)游天下,以(yi)臻(zhen)至境。程曰:“汝生(sheng)有(you)宿慧始克臻(zhen)此。余意,汝之技(ji)(ji)黃(huang)河南北已無敵(di)手。祿堂前途珍重,可去矣!行(xing)矣!”
1885年,先(xian)(xian)生(sheng)開始云(yun)游。途(tu)徑河(he)北、河(he)南、湖北、四川、湖南、廣東、江(jiang)(jiang)西、安徽、浙江(jiang)(jiang)、江(jiang)(jiang)蘇、山東等十一省,其間游行(xing)郡邑(yi)鄉野并(bing)曾(ceng)訪少林、朝武(wu)當、上(shang)峨嵋(mei),聞有藝者,先(xian)(xian)生(sheng)不辭(ci)遠蔽、險阻(zu),必訪至(zhi)。不服(fu)與(yu)較,先(xian)(xian)生(sheng)未嘗負之(zhi)。先(xian)(xian)生(sheng)喜攀援絕險奇峰、涉大(da)川幽(you)谷(gu)。曾(ceng)遇異(yi)人,乃一云(yun)游隱(yin)道,俗姓張(zhang)。授先(xian)(xian)生(sheng)修心養氣(qi)大(da)法,該法能自然辟谷(gu),清凈腹藏氣(qi)血之(zhi)雜物。先(xian)(xian)生(sheng)將此融入(ru)形意八卦修習(xi)之(zhi)中,達至(zhi)騰身(shen)走凌空、慧劍射神光之(zhi)境地。后又于蜀中從一高僧研修《易經》。并(bing)于武(wu)當與(yu)一陳姓隱(yin)道一同(tong)結廬(lu),聞其講論丹經。先(xian)(xian)生(sheng)遨游方外,登云(yun)天、造九極(ji)(ji)(ji),逐虎豹、入(ru)林莽,一路行(xing)俠奇事極(ji)(ji)(ji)多,曾(ceng)多次遇匪、獨(du)斗群(qun)梟,所向披(pi)靡。南方有碑(bei)文(wen)記載。歷時(shi)三年余,先(xian)(xian)生(sheng)于武(wu)道功臻造極(ji)(ji)(ji)至(zhi)境。行(xing)止坐臥、一念一應,無不依(yi)乎天理(li)合于道。于是(shi),先(xian)(xian)生(sheng)返里。
1888年秋,先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)返回保定。因(yin)先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)聲譽極隆。欲拜師者甚眾。當(dang)地拳(quan)家甚忌之(zhi)(zhi)。群謀(mou)暗算先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)。彼(bi)察得先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)有去某店(dian)飲茶之(zhi)(zhi)習。一日,二(er)十余人暗伏(fu)該(gai)店(dian)內外(wai)。候至(zhi)(zhi)先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)入店(dian)揭簾轉身之(zhi)(zhi)瞬(shun),伏(fu)者前后(hou)夾擊(ji)(ji),猛不可擋(dang)。先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)于不意(yi)之(zhi)(zhi)中,感而(er)遂通,若電光擊(ji)(ji)人,使前后(hou)偷襲者皆昏(hun)撲于地。眾拳(quan)家驚恐不已,疑先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)為天神。時先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)于武技已臻至(zhi)(zhi)空、至(zhi)(zhi)虛之(zhi)(zhi)化境,能有不聞(wen)不見之(zhi)(zhi)知(zhi)覺(jue),雖驟臨不測,亦能從容應(ying)變、感而(er)遂通。此事發生(sheng)后(hou),至(zhi)(zhi)先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)處(chu)求教或獵奇(qi)(qi)者甚眾,每日不絕。先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)苦之(zhi)(zhi),不久返歸故里,同年,創蒲(pu)陽(yang)拳(quan)社。于是先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)每日潛心玩味神化不測之(zhi)(zhi)功用(yong),研究(jiu)易經黃老奇(qi)(qi)門(men)遁(dun)甲等學(xue),并兼(jian)教鄉(xiang)人文武兩(liang)道。教授弟(di)子(zi)裘德元、張玉(yu)(yu)峰、張玉(yu)(yu)山、崔老玉(yu)(yu)、李老丹等。
1889年,完縣縣令拜于門下(xia)。同年先生(sheng)與張昭賢女士完婚(hun)。
1890年,先生(sheng)得長子。同年,經(jing)友人(ren)舉薦,至豐潤(run)。為(wei)清庭招考武(wu)(wu)庠生(sheng)。其(qi)間,先生(sheng)曾輕取北(bei)方武(wu)(wu)術大家、被時人(ren)尊為(wei)武(wu)(wu)圣人(ren)者——武(wu)(wu)林志。
1893年,先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)得次(ci)子。不(bu)久,經(jing)友人孫紹(shao)(shao)亭之邀(yao)前往(wang)定興(xing)。時(shi)紹(shao)(shao)亭與當地某拳家有(you)仇。某邀(yao)集北五省武林中(zhong)之錚(zheng)(zheng)錚(zheng)(zheng)者百余人前來與紹(shao)(shao)亭決斗。紹(shao)(shao)亭僅(jin)邀(yao)到(dao)先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)一人即與彼(bi)等(deng)不(bu)期而(er)遇。紹(shao)(shao)亭見彼(bi)等(deng)人眾且(qie)皆持器(qi)械,轉(zhuan)身即逃。先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)無奈,獨自應(ying)戰。傷彼(bi)數十人,余作鳥獸(shou)散。而(er)先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)未(wei)遭一傷。此后(hou)訟事由紹(shao)(shao)亭辦理。此事傳出后(hou),人言先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)為“平定興(xing)”。
1897年(nian),先(xian)生(sheng)得季子。同年(nian)先(xian)生(sheng)赴京(jing)城探望程庭華。二人朝夕相處,意甚(shen)洽。數日后先(xian)生(sheng)返。同門張玉奎(kui)等(deng)問(wen)程:“祿(lu)堂師兄(xiong)技竟何(he)如?”程庭華曰(yue):“神乎哉!神乎哉!獨步絕(jue)倫矣!”
1898年(nian),郭云(yun)深在(zai)去(qu)世前,把集(ji)其一生(sheng)習武(wu)心得寫成的《解說形意拳經》一書交與先生(sheng)。以示(shi)先生(sheng)為郭之(zhi)衣缽傳人。
1899年,先生得四女。并于定(ding)興收孫(sun)(sun)振川、孫(sun)(sun)振岱為徒。
1900年,庚子之亂(luan)。先生(sheng)不安,再入(ru)京(jing)城(cheng)探望程庭華。時程已(yi)犧牲。先生(sheng)遂返。
1900年(nian)—1907年(nian),先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)繼辦蒲陽拳社,探究儒釋道與拳學互證、互通之理。教授出齊(qi)公博、任彥芝(zhi)、陳(chen)守禮等(deng)一批弟子。其間(jian),清(qing)庭在京郊(jiao)舉行規模盛大(da)“天(tian)下英雄會(hui)”即演(yan)武大(da)會(hui),邀(yao)集南北各派武林高手(shou)前來比(bi)試。先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)亦(yi)前往。經比(bi)試,先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)技(ji)冠群(qun)雄。遂在武林中,先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)享(xiang)有“虎頭(tou)少(shao)保,天(tian)下第一手(shou)”之譽。
1907年—1909年,徐世昌(chang)慕先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)武藝絕倫,聘請先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)前來東(dong)北為(wei)其幕(mu)賓。期間,俄(e)(e)國及歐洲格斗冠軍彼(bi)(bi)得(de)(de)洛(luo)夫途徑奉天,經(jing)俄(e)(e)公(gong)使館(guan)提議(yi),彼(bi)(bi)得(de)(de)洛(luo)夫與(yu)先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)進行一場比(bi)武。先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)應邀前往,比(bi)試中,交臂間,先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)輕取彼(bi)(bi)。于是(shi)先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)名(ming)震(zhen)海外。之后,徐曾保先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)為(wei)知(zhi)縣、知(zhi)州。先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)婉(wan)謝(xie)之。
1909年,先(xian)生(sheng)隨徐世昌返(fan)京。不久霍(huo)元甲南下上海挑(tiao)戰(zhan)英國拳(quan)家奧皮音(yin),特(te)邀先(xian)生(sheng)同往(wang),為(wei)其壓陣。先(xian)生(sheng)預言,彼必不敢接戰(zhan)。至海上,果真如(ru)此,霍(huo)深服(fu)之。
1910年,先(xian)生舉家遷入北京。
1910年—1911年,先生從徐世昌(chang)游。
1912年,經友人(ren)介紹,先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)與太(tai)極拳家(jia)郝(hao)(hao)為(wei)真(zhen)相(xiang)識。初,相(xiang)敘投契,繼而先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)請(qing)問(wen)太(tai)極拳之(zhi)意,遂作切磋。搭手(shou)間,郝(hao)(hao)維禎頓覺(jue)不支、自嘆(tan)弗(fu)如。郝(hao)(hao)嘆(tan)曰:“異(yi)哉!吾一語而子(zi)通悟勝(sheng)專(zhuan)習(xi)數十年者。”蓋此時先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)之(zhi)形意、八卦與太(tai)極拳之(zhi)意相(xiang)通矣。后郝(hao)(hao)氏病困于京,經先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)救助(zhu),得(de)以(yi)恢(hui)復。郝(hao)(hao)維禎感先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)之(zhi)恩無(wu)以(yi)為(wei)報,得(de)知先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)正研究比較各派拳術使之(zhi)合一,遂將所習(xi)太(tai)極拳之(zhi)心(xin)得(de)理法相(xiang)告。先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)極重德行(xing),遂折節(jie)持(chi)弟子(zi)禮。
同年,先生次(ci)子(zi)亦效先生當(dang)年,獨杖南游。
1912年—1914年,先生(sheng)經(jing)徐世昌懇請,隨徐往返(fan)青島(dao)、北京。其間于青島(dao),先生(sheng)收劍術(shu)家(jia)(jia)潘(pan)贊化于門下。 不久,先生(sheng)參加“世界大(da)力士格(ge)斗大(da)賽”,先生(sheng)以全勝(sheng)戰績榮獲總冠(guan)軍。震動世界。 其間,先生(sheng)與京津各派名家(jia)(jia)共議形意、八卦(gua)、太極、通背(bei)四(si)門合一,欲建立統一的武術(shu)技(ji)術(shu)體系(xi)。后因師友之故,先生(sheng)與通背(bei)名家(jia)(jia)張策(ce)較技(ji),輕取張策(ce)。張羞(xiu)敗,負(fu)氣出關。1914年夏,先生(sheng)得五女。
1915年,先(xian)生(sheng)撰寫出版《形(xing)(xing)(xing)意(yi)拳(quan)學(xue)》一書(shu)。該書(shu)為(wei)公開出版有關形(xing)(xing)(xing)意(yi)拳(quan)之第一部專著(zhu)。先(xian)生(sheng)參儒(ru)道(dao)兩學(xue)、合丹經(jing)易理(li)重(zhong)構形(xing)(xing)(xing)意(yi)法、理(li),建立形(xing)(xing)(xing)意(yi)拳(quan)理(li)論及(ji)技(ji)術體(ti)系。提出中和(he)為(wei)用(yong),和(he)之中智勇生(sheng)焉的理(li)論。先(xian)生(sheng)合形(xing)(xing)(xing)意(yi)、八卦、太極三拳(quan)為(wei)一,創(chuang)立孫氏(shi)形(xing)(xing)(xing)意(yi)拳(quan)。其(qi)間,文人學(xue)者(zhe)陳微明、吳心谷等(deng)拜于門下。期間,先(xian)生(sheng)在法政學(xue)校教授武術。陳法可(ke)、靳云亭、龔劍堂等(deng)帶(dai)藝拜于先(xian)生(sheng)門下。
1916年,先生撰(zhuan)寫出版《八卦拳(quan)學》一(yi)書。該書是有關(guan)八卦拳(quan)之(zhi)(zhi)第一(yi)部(bu)專著。先生論(lun)拳(quan),參丹(dan)經(jing)、合易理(li),提出一(yi)以(yi)貫(guan)之(zhi)(zhi)、純以(yi)神行之(zhi)(zhi)道。發明先后天(tian)相合之(zhi)(zhi)技(ji)術(shu)、理(li)論(lun)系統,授以(yi)天(tian)人(ren)合一(yi)、神化(hua)不測之(zhi)(zhi)功用。創立八卦拳(quan)之(zhi)(zhi)理(li)論(lun)與(yu)技(ji)術(shu)體系。
同年(nian),應同門劉(liu)(liu)緯(wei)祥之邀,先生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)赴保定小察院與劉(liu)(liu)會面。因劉(liu)(liu)長一輩(然(ran)劉(liu)(liu)比先生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)小四歲),先生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)謙之再。然(ran)劉(liu)(liu)緯(wei)祥定要(yao)與先生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)切磋,于是(shi)試技(ji),先后試之三(san)次,先生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)三(san)次皆(jie)勝劉(liu)(liu)。于是(shi)劉(liu)(liu)緯(wei)祥感謂(wei)曰:“難怪郭先生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)把拳經傳給你。”劉(liu)(liu)緯(wei)祥者,人稱(cheng)“劉(liu)(liu)二彪(biao)子”,乃華北(bei)形(xing)意巨匠也。
同年(nian),北京(jing)體育(yu)研習所(suo)許禹生(sheng)請先(xian)生(sheng)去(qu)該(gai)所(suo)講授太極拳。該(gai)所(suo)多有善太極者,經切磋,眾(zhong)(zhong)人(ren)對先(xian)生(sheng)之太極技、理(li),莫不欽服。于(yu)是(shi)人(ren)稱先(xian)生(sheng)之太極為(wei)孫氏太極。時海(hai)內各派武(wu)林名家訪先(xian)生(sheng)請益者甚(shen)眾(zhong)(zhong),北京(jing)之四民武(wu)術社、天津之中華武(wu)士(shi)會亦常(chang)請先(xian)生(sheng)去(qu)講授拳學,然(ran)先(xian)生(sheng)常(chang)感(gan)謂曰:“余(yu)雖論(lun)拳不倦,然(ran)百人(ren)之中難遇一、二略明其真意者。”
1918年,先生(sheng)宗(zong)老(lao)子自然之(zhi)道、合易(yi)筋洗髓兩經之(zhi)義、用周(zhou)子太(tai)極圖之(zhi)形、取(qu)河(he)洛之(zhi)理(li)、依(yi)先后(hou)易(yi)之(zhi)數,融合形意(yi)、八卦(gua)、太(tai)極三門拳術之(zhi)真(zhen)諦系統(tong)創立(li)孫氏太(tai)極拳之(zhi)理(li)法。同年,開始撰寫《太(tai)極拳學》。同年,應徐世(shi)昌親聘,先生(sheng)入(ru)總統(tong)府任武(wu)承宣使(shi)。同年,名士(shi)劉春霖(lin)、陳寶(bao)泉、徐樹錚及定興朱國(guo)福等投拜門下。
1919年(nian)(nian),先(xian)(xian)生出(chu)(chu)版《太極(ji)拳(quan)(quan)(quan)(quan)學》一(yi)(yi)書(shu)。該(gai)書(shu)為太極(ji)拳(quan)(quan)(quan)(quan)發展史上(shang)(shang)第一(yi)(yi)部公開(kai)出(chu)(chu)版的(de)著(zhu)作。先(xian)(xian)生在該(gai)書(shu)中(zhong)指(zhi)出(chu)(chu)太極(ji)拳(quan)(quan)(quan)(quan)之(zhi)本質不(bu)(bu)過是研求一(yi)(yi)氣伸縮(suo)之(zhi)道。形意(yi)拳(quan)(quan)(quan)(quan)、八卦拳(quan)(quan)(quan)(quan)亦如此。一(yi)(yi)氣者即中(zhong)和真一(yi)(yi)之(zhi)氣,由(you)無極(ji)而(er)(er)生。故(gu)拳(quan)(quan)(quan)(quan)學莫不(bu)(bu)是自虛而(er)(er)始再還于(yu)虛。形意(yi)八卦太極(ji)三拳(quan)(quan)(quan)(quan)用(yong)法不(bu)(bu)同(tong)(tong),各有側重(zhong),然其理則(ze)一(yi)(yi)也。于(yu)是揭示(shi)出(chu)(chu)形意(yi)、八卦、太極(ji)三門拳(quan)(quan)(quan)(quan)學在本質上(shang)(shang)的(de)同(tong)(tong)一(yi)(yi)性和技(ji)術體(ti)系上(shang)(shang)的(de)互融、互補性。同(tong)(tong)年(nian)(nian),完縣一(yi)(yi)帶(dai)大旱,先(xian)(xian)生傾家(jia)資大洋千余元賑濟(ji)鄉里。
1920年,日(ri)(ri)本大正天皇欽命大武士、全日(ri)(ri)本柔術冠軍坂垣(yuan)一雄前來中(zhong)(zhong)國向先生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)挑戰。先生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)在家中(zhong)(zhong)接待坂垣(yuan),并依坂垣(yuan)之法與坂垣(yuan)試(shi)技(ji)。先生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)輕取之。坂垣(yuan)深服,愿出(chu)兩萬(wan)塊大洋投拜先生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)為師(shi)。先生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)婉拒之。 1922年,先生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)離(li)開總(zong)統府。時去(qu)中(zhong)(zhong)山公園行健會(hui)講授拳學。
1923年(nian),先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)撰寫出版《拳意(yi)述真》。先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)在(zai)書中闡發拳與道(dao)合(he)之(zhi)理并論(lun)述通過修拳而(er)至煉虛合(he)道(dao)之(zhi)親身體(ti)悟。進而(er)揭示出由拳悟道(dao)之(zhi)進階之(zhi)梯。從而(er)使(shi)拳學(xue)成(cheng)為(wei)中國傳統哲學(xue)中一個重(zhong)要的體(ti)驗(yan)體(ti)系和(he)組成(cheng)部分。 同年(nian),先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)喪季子(zi)。同年(nian),北(bei)京(jing)名拳家(jia)“神鷂子(zi)”陳魁、“京(jing)西(xi)劉(liu)”劉(liu)正邦等(deng)投拜(bai)門下。同年(nian),馬良等(deng)在(zai)滬舉辦全國武術表(biao)演大會(hui),特(te)邀先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)前往助興(xing)。先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)因鄙其為(wei)人,未行。
1924年(nian),先(xian)(xian)生(sheng)赴晉,看(kan)望(wang)宋世榮(rong)。宋世榮(rong)稱贊先(xian)(xian)生(sheng)曰:“祿(lu)堂仁棣,學(xue)于后,空(kong)于前(qian),后來居上。獨續(xu)先(xian)(xian)宗絕學(xue)。”其間,當(dang)地宋世榮(rong)之得意門(men)人董秀生(sheng)等挽留先(xian)(xian)生(sheng)數(shu)月,從先(xian)(xian)生(sheng)學(xue)拳。先(xian)(xian)生(sheng)為董宅(zhai)題(ti)名:“養性軒”。 同年(nian),先(xian)(xian)生(sheng)之次子(zi)看(kan)報時,不慎被其盟兄誤傷左目(mu)。同年(nian),北京之鄭懷賢、高道天(tian)、海桂元,天(tian)津之李玉琳(lin)、李敦素、朱國禎(zhen)、龔劍(jian)堂、楊世垣等投拜門(men)下。
1925年(nian),先(xian)生(sheng)撰寫出《八卦劍(jian)(jian)(jian)學(xue)》一書。先(xian)生(sheng)在該書中闡發劍(jian)(jian)(jian)學(xue)真(zhen)諦,創立由拳(quan)劍(jian)(jian)(jian)而生(sheng)慧劍(jian)(jian)(jian)之(zhi)(zhi)法理。使劍(jian)(jian)(jian)合(he)于(yu)道、人通于(yu)仙。直隸(li)督辦、劍(jian)(jian)(jian)術名家李(li)景林特邀(yao)先(xian)生(sheng)會晤,交流后(hou),李(li)深服(fu)之(zhi)(zhi)。之(zhi)(zhi)后(hou),李(li)常向先(xian)生(sheng)請益(yi)劍(jian)(jian)(jian)法。李(li)對武當(dang)劍(jian)(jian)(jian)對練之(zhi)(zhi)整理,便多得先(xian)生(sheng)之(zhi)(zhi)助。
1926年,先生得道(dao)(dao)友關某(mou)(失其名),每(mei)日二(er)人同處一(yi)室,共同合道(dao)(dao)修真。其法,不(bu)傳六耳。
1928年,先(xian)(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)參加中(zhong)央(yang)國(guo)(guo)(guo)(guo)術館開(kai)幕典禮(li),居中(zhong)而(er)坐。嗣后(hou)(hou)被聘為(wei)中(zhong)央(yang)國(guo)(guo)(guo)(guo)術館武當門(men)門(men)長。后(hou)(hou)因忌(ji)之(zhi)者眾,先(xian)(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)厭于人事關(guan)系糾紛,改就江蘇省國(guo)(guo)(guo)(guo)術館付館長兼教務長。同年10月,中(zhong)央(yang)國(guo)(guo)(guo)(guo)術館舉辦首屆國(guo)(guo)(guo)(guo)術國(guo)(guo)(guo)(guo)考,經(jing)數(shu)輪比試(shi),先(xian)(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)之(zhi)弟(di)子朱國(guo)(guo)(guo)(guo)福(fu)、朱國(guo)(guo)(guo)(guo)禎等(deng)居最優等(deng)之(zhi)列。同年,肖漢(han)卿(qing)、顧汝章、胡鳳山、曹晏海、柳印(yin)虎、沈(shen)祖安(an)、金(jin)一(yi)明、金(jin)仕明等(deng)投拜(bai)先(xian)(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)門(men)下。
1929年(nian),先(xian)(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)發表《論拳術內(nei)外(wai)家之(zhi)別》一文,談及(ji)四十八(ba)年(nian)前,赴晉訪宋世榮,討論內(nei)功及(ji)內(nei)外(wai)家之(zhi)別之(zhi)事。同(tong)(tong)年(nian)3月,馬承智(zhi)(zhi)、李慶(qing)瀾、袁(yuan)偉(wei)、支(zhi)燮(xie)堂、童文華(hua)等投拜(bai)先(xian)(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)門(men)下。同(tong)(tong)年(nian)5月,先(xian)(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)參加“致柔拳社(she)”創立(li)四周年(nian)慶(qing)典(dian)。其間,與會(hui)太極名家紛紛向先(xian)(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)請(qing)益,于是先(xian)(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)分(fen)別與彼(bi)等試手,時,先(xian)(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)身未動而彼(bi)等已騰然飄起,眾人莫不驚服之(zhi)。同(tong)(tong)年(nian)11月,浙(zhe)省舉(ju)辦(ban)國術游藝大會(hui)。先(xian)(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)為(wei)副評判(pan)委員長。先(xian)(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)之(zhi)學生(sheng)、弟(di)子(zi)在(zai)本次比賽中表現出眾。在(zai)最(zui)優等前十名中,先(xian)(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)之(zhi)學生(sheng)弟(di)子(zi)占(zhan)居半數。其中胡鳳(feng)山和曹(cao)(cao)晏海還被(bei)公認(ren)為(wei)是最(zui)具實力者。同(tong)(tong)年(nian)12月,上(shang)海舉(ju)辦(ban)國術大賽,先(xian)(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)被(bei)聘為(wei)評判(pan)委員會(hui)主任。先(xian)(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)之(zhi)弟(di)子(zi)曹(cao)(cao)晏海、馬承智(zhi)(zhi)分(fen)獲(huo)冠亞軍。袁(yuan)偉(wei)獲(huo)第八(ba)名。
1930年(nian),江南(nan)水災(zai)。先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)以(yi)古稀之(zhi)(zhi)齡參加(jia)賑災(zai)義演。先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)表演形意明勁雜(za)式捶。表演中,先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)之(zhi)(zhi)發力雄(xiong)渾絕倫(lun),神光四射。內氣直貫毫(hao)發,以(yi)致須發盡皆直立而起(qi),觀者(zhe)莫(mo)不(bu)(bu)嘆為(wei)觀止。主(zhu)辦(ban)者(zhe)以(yi)“龍(long)馬精神、熱忱匡助”之(zhi)(zhi)錦旗(qi)贈與先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)。同年(nian),日(ri)(ri)(ri)(ri)本又選(xuan)派(pai)六位格斗高(gao)手前來中國,向先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)挑戰。先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)決定(ding)以(yi)一對五。時先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)平(ping)躺于(yu)(yu)地(di),命五位日(ri)(ri)(ri)(ri)人(ren)(ren)以(yi)任意方式固(gu)壓自(zi)己(ji),另一日(ri)(ri)(ri)(ri)人(ren)(ren)喊三(san)(san)下(xia),以(yi)試先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)在三(san)(san)下(xia)之(zhi)(zhi)內能(neng)否起(qi)身。當(dang)日(ri)(ri)(ri)(ri)人(ren)(ren)剛喊至(zhi)兩下(xia)時,先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)騰然而起(qi),五位日(ri)(ri)(ri)(ri)人(ren)(ren)皆被發出數丈之(zhi)(zhi)外昏撲于(yu)(yu)地(di),一時竟不(bu)(bu)能(neng)起(qi)。日(ri)(ri)(ri)(ri)人(ren)(ren)遂驚(jing)服先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)為(wei)神拳。次日(ri)(ri)(ri)(ri),日(ri)(ri)(ri)(ri)人(ren)(ren)又至(zhi),愿(yuan)出20萬大(da)(da)洋,請先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)東(dong)渡日(ri)(ri)(ri)(ri)本,教授拳術。先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)婉(wan)拒之(zhi)(zhi)。后,日(ri)(ri)(ri)(ri)人(ren)(ren)遂奉先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)為(wei)文(wen)武兩道三(san)(san)大(da)(da)雄(xiong)。
1931年,先生(sheng)欲尋慧達(da)(da)之(zhi)(zhi)人(ren)(ren)繼承自己(ji)之(zhi)(zhi)拳學。于(yu)是登報招收弟子(zi)。此前先生(sheng)曾尋天(tian)賦慧達(da)(da)者數十年,始(shi)終(zhong)未遇。唯海桂元天(tian)賦尚可(ke)。可(ke)惜(xi),1928年5月(yue)海桂元隨張作霖出(chu)關時被炸(zha)死(海是張作霖的貼身秘書)。先生(sheng)此番招徒(tu)條件有三(san):1、本人(ren)(ren)酷(ku)愛(ai)武術(shu),三(san)年之(zhi)(zhi)內不準備從(cong)事(shi)其他事(shi)業者。2、大學文化程度(du)。3、面試合(he)格(ge)。僅一周,報名者已達(da)(da)兩(liang)千(qian)余人(ren)(ren),先生(sheng)從(cong)中擇出(chu)三(san)人(ren)(ren),認為條件尚可(ke)。決定(ding)使三(san)人(ren)(ren)各承自己(ji)一門拳學。然,同年9月(yue),“九一八”事(shi)變爆發。國難當頭(tou),人(ren)(ren)心惶(huang)惶(huang),其時,已不具備潛心修武之(zhi)(zhi)環境。于(yu)是先生(sheng)抱(bao)憾(han)中斷(duan)傳(chuan)授。于(yu)10月(yue)辭職(zhi)返(fan)京(jing)。
1932年,先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)發(fa)表《詳(xiang)論(lun)形(xing)意八卦太極之(zhi)原理(li)》一文。指出(chu):“拳術之(zhi)道,首重(zhong)中和(he)。中和(he)之(zhi)外,無元妙(miao)也(ye)。” 時,北(bei)平(ping)國術館副(fu)館長許(xu)禹生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)多次請先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)出(chu)山,先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)未允。許(xu)懇請再三,先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)同意偶爾去館中做些(xie)指導。其間,尚云祥、鄧云峰、劉(liu)(liu)彩臣(chen)、許(xu)禹生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)、馬貴、恒壽山、劉(liu)(liu)斌、馬步周等常到先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)家中向(xiang)先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)請益。切磋中,眾人莫不驚(jing)服,嘆先(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)技(ji)高不可測也(ye)。
1933年(nian),先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)預言自己駕鶴(he)之日。夫(fu)(fu)人大驚,遂(sui)命其女帶先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)去德(de)國(guo)醫(yi)院(今北京醫(yi)院)作全面(mian)體檢。先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)笑曰(yue)(yue):“吾身(shen)體無(wu)(wu)恙,去何醫(yi)院。只是(shi)(shi)到(dao)時(shi)將有仙佛接引,吾欲一(yi)游耳(er)。”家(jia)人疑而不(bu)(bu)信,堅持(chi)要先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)去檢查。先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)無(wu)(wu)奈,只得由小女陪(pei)伴(ban)去做體檢。檢查后德(de)國(guo)醫(yi)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)史(shi)蒂夫(fu)(fu)說:“孫(sun)先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)的身(shen)體無(wu)(wu)任何不(bu)(bu)良(liang)跡象(xiang),比年(nian)輕人的身(shen)體還(huan)要好。”歸后,夫(fu)(fu)人又請名醫(yi)孔(kong)伯華(hua)來(lai)家(jia)中為先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)檢查。把脈后,孔(kong)曰(yue)(yue):“孫(sun)先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)六脈調和(he),無(wu)(wu)一(yi)絲微暇。這么好的脈象(xiang),我還(huan)是(shi)(shi)第一(yi)次遇到(dao)。”家(jia)人遂(sui)安。同年(nian)秋,先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)歸故里,不(bu)(bu)食者兩旬,而每日習拳(quan)練字無(wu)(wu)間。至12月16日早上(夏(xia)歷十(shi)月二十(shi)九日卯時(shi)),先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)對家(jia)人曰(yue)(yue):“仙佛來(lai)接引矣。”遂(sui)命家(jia)人去戶外燒紙。于六點零五分(fen),先(xian)(xian)(xian)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)面(mian)朝東(dong)南(nan),背靠西北,端(duan)坐戶內,囑家(jia)人勿(wu)哀哭并曰(yue)(yue):“吾視生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)死如游戲耳(er)。”一(yi)笑而逝。遺有《八卦槍學(xue)》一(yi)書初稿。
