五代(dai)后(hou)晉開運(yun)二年(nian)(945年(nian))創建。
陀(tuo)羅尼(ni)經(jing)(jing)幢(chuang)用青石雕刻(ke)對(dui)接而成(cheng),由座、身、剎三部(bu)(bu)分(fen)組成(cheng),八樓七(qi)級,通(tong)高6米(mi),壯若石塔;基部(bu)(bu)刻(ke)有(you)舞獅(shi),柱頂八角盤上刻(ke)有(you)伎樂人(ren);第四節龍(long)柱上刻(ke)有(you)樓臺和(he)侍(shi)女(nv)等(deng)。 陀(tuo)羅尼(ni)經(jing)(jing)幢(chuang)刀法嫻熟,刻(ke)工精湛,具有(you)較高的藝術(shu)價值(zhi)。
基(ji)座上(shang)(shang)刻(ke)(ke)有舞獅(shi)。幢身(shen)最下一節(jie)刻(ke)(ke)《陀羅尼經》,楷書。幢頂(ding)八角(jiao)盤上(shang)(shang)刻(ke)(ke)伎樂人、飛天和人面獸身(shen)的舞蹈形象(xiang)。第四節(jie)幢身(shen)上(shang)(shang)刻(ke)(ke)樓(lou)臺(tai)亭閣和仕女(nv),再上(shang)(shang)兩節(jie)雕有一佛、二弟子,最上(shang)(shang)為葫蘆形剎。所(suo)有雕刻(ke)(ke),形象(xiang)生動,刀(dao)法嫻熟,工(gong)藝(yi)(yi)精湛,有較高(gao)的藝(yi)(yi)術(shu)價值。后晉在中國歷史上(shang)(shang)是個短命的封建(jian)王朝,其石刻(ke)(ke)藝(yi)(yi)術(shu)存世極少,故(gu)此幢十分珍(zhen)貴。
該幢原立于室外,后來(lai)衛(wei)輝賓館在其(qi)原處(chu)建造大(da)廳,使其(qi)置于大(da)廳之內,方(fang)才避免了日曬風吹帶來(lai)的損傷。
寧(ning)(ning)境(jing)寺原名為(wei)寧(ning)(ning)靜院(yuan),五代后(hou)晉(jin)開(kai)運二(er)年(nian)(公(gong)元(yuan)(yuan)945年(nian))開(kai)始建造。宋代時寧(ning)(ning)境(jing)院(yuan)曾得以保留。元(yuan)(yuan)至正二(er)十(shi)八(ba)年(nian)(公(gong)元(yuan)(yuan)1368年(nian))七月,明朝(chao)大將徐達、副(fu)將軍常(chang)遇(yu)春,征伐河北之軍,攻占衛輝后(hou),寧(ning)(ning)靜院(yuan)一度毀于(yu)戰火之中。明王(wang)朝(chao)建立后(hou),洪(hong)武二(er)十(shi)三年(nian)(公(gong)元(yuan)(yuan)1390年(nian))寧(ning)(ning)靜院(yuan)在舊墟(xu)上(shang)被重(zhong)新修起(qi),并將院(yuan)改為(wei)寺,同時置(zhi)(zhi)僧綱司,明正德七年(nian)(公(gong)元(yuan)(yuan)1512年(nian)),嘉靖二(er)十(shi)五年(nian)(公(gong)元(yuan)(yuan)1546年(nian)),當(dang)時衛輝府又分別翻修和重(zhong)建了(le)(le)寧(ning)(ning)境(jing)寺,寧(ning)(ning)境(jing)寺在原有規律的(de)(de)基(ji)礎上(shang)再(zai)(zai)次得到了(le)(le)擴大。清軍入(ru)關(guan)后(hou),清王(wang)朝(chao)為(wei)了(le)(le)麻木(mu)和禁錮人們(men)的(de)(de)反清思(si)想,除加(jia)以保護寺院(yuan)外,并且仍置(zhi)(zhi)僧綱司。清朝(chao)滅亡后(hou),寧(ning)(ning)境(jing)寺又再(zai)(zai)度毀于(yu)戰火和人為(wei)毀壞之中。現其它建筑已不復存在,獨石刻陀羅尼經幢完整遺留了(le)(le)下(xia)來。
陀羅尼(ni)經幢,現存整(zheng)座建(jian)筑高(gao)6.50米,由幢座、幢身及(ji)幢頂三部(bu)分(fen)構成。
幢(chuang)的(de)基座(zuo)分為(wei)(wei)二層,底(di)(di)層是直徑為(wei)(wei)1.50米的(de)須(xu)(xu)彌(mi)(mi)座(zuo),總高(gao)為(wei)(wei)1.80米,底(di)(di)層須(xu)(xu)彌(mi)(mi)座(zuo)的(de)下枋為(wei)(wei)方形(xing)(xing),下梟雕有(you)十六瓣覆蓮裝(zhuang)飾,中間(jian)束腰(yao)部(bu)分為(wei)(wei)八角(jiao)形(xing)(xing)柱(zhu)(zhu)體,上(shang)枋雕成十五瓣蓮花(hua)形(xing)(xing)狀。上(shang)層須(xu)(xu)彌(mi)(mi)座(zuo)的(de)束腰(yao)部(bu)分也為(wei)(wei)八角(jiao)形(xing)(xing)柱(zhu)(zhu)體,與(yu)底(di)(di)層中間(jian)束腰(yao)部(bu)分一(yi)樣(yang),八個(ge)(ge)角(jiao)上(shang)各雕有(you)壺門一(yi)個(ge)(ge),內有(you)雕像(xiang)一(yi)尊,似為(wei)(wei)使(shi)樂人(ren)。再(zai)上(shang)枋為(wei)(wei)八角(jiao)形(xing)(xing),上(shang)雕覆蓮。
幢身(shen)系上(shang)細(xi)下(xia)粗(cu)的(de)八(ba)棱柱體,高1.70米,上(shang)部每面(mian)(mian)(mian)闊(kuo)0.20米,直徑0.46米,下(xia)部每面(mian)(mian)(mian)闊(kuo)0.22米,直徑0.52米。它的(de)八(ba)面(mian)(mian)(mian)皆(jie)刻(ke)有陀羅(luo)尼經(jing)文。在幢身(shen)的(de)正面(mian)(mian)(mian)(南面(mian)(mian)(mian))首(shou)行(xing)(xing)楷書(shu)陰刻(ke)“佛頂尊勝陀羅(luo)尼經(jing)序”九(jiu)(jiu)個大字(zi)。從第二(er)行(xing)(xing)開始刻(ke)經(jing)序,每面(mian)(mian)(mian)刻(ke)九(jiu)(jiu)行(xing)(xing),足行(xing)(xing)一百一十五字(zi),最(zui)后一面(mian)(mian)(mian)尾行(xing)(xing)刻(ke)“□晉開運二(er)年(nian)(nian)(nian)歲在□已二(er)月二(er)十九(jiu)(jiu)日丙(bing)□”。從而證實了該(gai)經(jing)幢的(de)建造(zao)時間為后晉開運二(er)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(公元945年(nian)(nian)(nian))。
幢(chuang)頂(ding)部(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)可分為(wei)(wei)(wei)七(qi)層(ceng),總(zong)高(gao)3.88米(mi)。第(di)一(yi)層(ceng),接幢(chuang)身之(zhi)(zhi)上(shang)(shang),可分兩(liang)(liang)面(mian)(mian)(mian)(mian)(mian)(mian)部(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)分。下部(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)為(wei)(wei)(wei)圓(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)柱(zhu)(zhu)狀,環刻(ke)淺(qian)浮(fu)雕(diao)(diao)圖案(an)。上(shang)(shang)部(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)為(wei)(wei)(wei)一(yi)八(ba)角(jiao)形(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing)寶(bao)蓋。第(di)二層(ceng)為(wei)(wei)(wei)一(yi)圓(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)柱(zhu)(zhu)體(ti)(ti)。繞(rao)(rao)柱(zhu)(zhu)雕(diao)(diao)有(you)(you)(you)(you)五條盤龍,南面(mian)(mian)(mian)(mian)(mian)(mian)正中開一(yi)尖(jian)拱形(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing)小(xiao)龕,龕內(nei)所雕(diao)(diao)坐佛造(zao)像,已不存在(zai)。第(di)三層(ceng)分上(shang)(shang)、下兩(liang)(liang)部(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)分。下部(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)為(wei)(wei)(wei)八(ba)角(jiao)形(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing)體(ti)(ti),底部(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)有(you)(you)(you)(you)八(ba)個(ge)斜面(mian)(mian)(mian)(mian)(mian)(mian),上(shang)(shang)雕(diao)(diao)八(ba)個(ge)飛(fei)人正凌空飛(fei)舞,衣(yi)帶飄揚。上(shang)(shang)部(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)分圓(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)形(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing),繞(rao)(rao)四(si)周雕(diao)(diao)刻(ke)有(you)(you)(you)(you)四(si)組(zu)(zu)建(jian)筑,四(si)組(zu)(zu)建(jian)筑之(zhi)(zhi)間(jian)用以回(hui)廊聯結。第(di)四(si)層(ceng)可分三部(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)分。下部(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)為(wei)(wei)(wei)一(yi)圓(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)形(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing)仰蓮小(xiao)座、中部(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)分方形(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing)柱(zhu)(zhu)體(ti)(ti),四(si)面(mian)(mian)(mian)(mian)(mian)(mian)均(jun)有(you)(you)(you)(you)雕(diao)(diao)像一(yi)鋪(pu)。上(shang)(shang)面(mian)(mian)(mian)(mian)(mian)(mian)為(wei)(wei)(wei)圓(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)形(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing)仰蓮狀小(xiao)蓋。第(di)五層(ceng)有(you)(you)(you)(you)三部(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)分組(zu)(zu)成。下部(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)分圓(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)柱(zhu)(zhu)體(ti)(ti),繞(rao)(rao)圓(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)柱(zhu)(zhu)淺(qian)浮(fu)雕(diao)(diao)有(you)(you)(you)(you)六組(zu)(zu)獅首銜環,之(zhi)(zhi)間(jian)有(you)(you)(you)(you)纓絡聯結。中部(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)為(wei)(wei)(wei)八(ba)角(jiao)形(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing)柱(zhu)(zhu)體(ti)(ti),每隔一(yi)面(mian)(mian)(mian)(mian)(mian)(mian)刻(ke)有(you)(you)(you)(you)長方形(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing)淺(qian)龕,龕內(nei)各(ge)雕(diao)(diao)有(you)(you)(you)(you)一(yi)力士像,在(zai)素面(mian)(mian)(mian)(mian)(mian)(mian)上(shang)(shang)刻(ke)有(you)(you)(you)(you)楷書(shu)文字,但多已漫漶,中部(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)為(wei)(wei)(wei)一(yi)八(ba)角(jiao)形(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing)屋頂(ding)狀寶(bao)蓋,在(zai)八(ba)棱體(ti)(ti)的(de)截面(mian)(mian)(mian)(mian)(mian)(mian)上(shang)(shang)刻(ke)有(you)(you)(you)(you)“回(hui)”形(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing)圖案(an),頂(ding)部(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)每面(mian)(mian)(mian)(mian)(mian)(mian)雕(diao)(diao)有(you)(you)(you)(you)瓦(wa)垅七(qi)行,檐下刻(ke)有(you)(you)(you)(you)角(jiao)梁,飛(fei)檐,刻(ke)工精細,比(bi)例協(xie)調。第(di)六層(ceng)也有(you)(you)(you)(you)三部(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)分組(zu)(zu)成。下部(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)為(wei)(wei)(wei)雕(diao)(diao)刻(ke)的(de)多層(ceng)仰蓮圖案(an),中部(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)為(wei)(wei)(wei)一(yi)風(feng)化的(de)柱(zhu)(zhu)體(ti)(ti),上(shang)(shang)部(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)為(wei)(wei)(wei)圓(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)形(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing)寶(bao)蓋,在(zai)寶(bao)蓋的(de)邊緣鑿有(you)(you)(you)(you)八(ba)個(ge)圓(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)形(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing)小(xiao)瓦(wa),似是掛風(feng)鐸而致(zhi)。繞(rao)(rao)圓(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)雕(diao)(diao)有(you)(you)(you)(you)帷幔形(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing)狀淺(qian)浮(fu)雕(diao)(diao),第(di)七(qi)層(ceng)為(wei)(wei)(wei)一(yi)完整的(de)葫蘆形(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing)(xing)寶(bao)珠。
作為(wei)(wei)經幢(chuang)建造(zao)的(de)起始,是自唐代(dai)以(yi)后建造(zao)之(zhi)(zhi)風才開始盛行。有(you)(you)為(wei)(wei)功德(de)鐫造(zao)的(de)陀羅尼經幢(chuang),也有(you)(you)為(wei)(wei)紀忥僧德(de)的(de)墓幢(chuang),而(er)五代(dai)之(zhi)(zhi)后晉(jin)國祚非常短促,與歷代(dai)相比,只能(neng)稱得上是曇花一現(xian),因此(ci)所留遺物(wu)少之(zhi)(zhi)甚少。衛輝(hui)之(zhi)(zhi)陀羅尼經幢(chuang),承(cheng)唐代(dai)經幢(chuang)之(zhi)(zhi)衣缽,啟(qi)宋代(dai)經幢(chuang)之(zhi)(zhi)先風。整(zheng)個經幢(chuang)布(bu)局嚴(yan)謹,人(ren)物(wu)造(zao)像逼(bi)真,真實地(di)展現(xian)了當時(shi)的(de)佛(fo)教文化(hua)。它巧(qiao)妙地(di)使用高浮雕,淺浮雕、圓浮雕相結合的(de)手(shou)法(fa),完整(zheng)地(di)體現(xian)了當時(shi)的(de)雕造(zao)技術,堪稱極佳(jia)的(de)石刻藝(yi)術品,而(er)它作為(wei)(wei)一個時(shi)期——五代(dai)之(zhi)(zhi)后晉(jin)遺物(wu)的(de)完整(zheng)保存,就(jiu)顯得更為(wei)(wei)彌足珍貴。
2013年(nian)入選(xuan)第七批全國重點文物(wu)保護單位。
