成長歷史

這個以戴白(bai)面(mian)具、白(bai)手(shou)套和棒球帽(mao)著(zhu)稱的(de)舞團(tuan)，在(zai)2003年(nian)成立於(wu)San Diego（圣迭戈)，團(tuan)名典故源於(wu)「愛(ai)麗斯(si)夢游仙境(jing)之鏡中奇緣(yuan)]Alice in wonderland的(de)詩(shi) 。他們最初多半在(zai)SD和LA演出，2007年(nian)參(can)加America's Got Talent第二季的(de)比賽后(hou)，知名度大增，2008年(nian)在(zai)America's Best Dance Crew以銳(rui)不可擋的(de)氣勢(shi)奪下首(shou)季冠軍(jun)。

假面舞(wu)(wu)客(ke)這一(yi)(yi)團(tuan)隊創立初衷是(shi)一(yi)(yi)群朋友想(xiang)要(yao)展示自由風(feng)(feng)(feng)的(de)(de)舞(wu)(wu)蹈(dao)。在那個時代Hip-Hop風(feng)(feng)(feng)盛(sheng)行，然(ran)而到處都是(shi)一(yi)(yi)些風(feng)(feng)(feng)格相同的(de)(de)舞(wu)(wu)蹈(dao)團(tuan)隊，那些舞(wu)(wu)蹈(dao)者所表(biao)現的(de)(de)舞(wu)(wu)蹈(dao)就(jiu)像是(shi)克(ke)隆(long)過一(yi)(yi)樣。“舞(wu)(wu)蹈(dao)為了(le)(le)跟隨音樂的(de)(de)節奏”和“舞(wu)(wu)蹈(dao)作為藝術表(biao)現形(xing)式”兩者之間失(shi)去了(le)(le)平(ping)衡。因(yin)此就(jiu)有了(le)(le)假面舞(wu)(wu)客(ke)的(de)(de)誕生。

經由《美(mei)(mei)國偶(ou)像 American Idol》評(ping)委Randy Jackson打造的(de)《Randy Jackson Present America’s Best Dance Crew》結束(shu)了(le)第一(yi)季的(de)比賽，也誕生了(le)第一(yi)只美(mei)(mei)國最棒(bang)的(de)舞蹈團(tuan)隊，這(zhe)支團(tuan)隊就是JabbaWockeeZ。

JABBA早期是(shi)11個(ge)(ge)人(ren)(ren)(ren)，ABDC當時(shi)的(de)(de)(de)比賽(sai)要求人(ren)(ren)(ren)數(shu)不(bu)能(neng)多于(yu)7個(ge)(ge)，他(ta)(ta)們(men)決定讓Gary，Phi，Rainen，Joe，Phil，KB，Chris7個(ge)(ge)人(ren)(ren)(ren)參(can)賽(sai)，但是(shi)Gary Kendell因肺炎去(qu)(qu)世(shi)了(le)，他(ta)(ta)們(men)為(wei)了(le)保留Gary的(de)(de)(de)位(wei)置，把參(can)賽(sai)人(ren)(ren)(ren)數(shu)定為(wei)6人(ren)(ren)(ren)，后來Joe的(de)(de)(de)腳踝受傷(shang)了(le)，于(yu)是(shi)Ben代替他(ta)(ta)參(can)賽(sai)，所(suo)以到ABDC的(de)(de)(de)時(shi)候是(shi)他(ta)(ta)們(men)6個(ge)(ge)人(ren)(ren)(ren)。他(ta)(ta)們(men)有(you)些(xie)舞(wu)蹈(dao)中無論開頭還是(shi)結束都有(you)指向天的(de)(de)(de)動作，那是(shi)為(wei)了(le)紀念逝(shi)去(qu)(qu)的(de)(de)(de)隊(dui)友。他(ta)(ta)們(men)的(de)(de)(de)舞(wu)蹈(dao)表演人(ren)(ren)(ren)數(shu)因場地(di)和要求不(bu)斷改(gai)變。Jabbawockeez每個(ge)(ge)成員都有(you)不(bu)同的(de)(de)(de)舞(wu)蹈(dao)風格(ge)和生活背景，這(zhe)為(wei)整個(ge)(ge)團隊(dui)帶來了(le)多元化的(de)(de)(de)風格(ge)和觀點。

特色

在ABDC比賽(sai)期間，評審Lil Mama毫不避(bi)諱地多次表(biao)示她超挺JabbaWockeeZ，Lil Mama對JabbaWockeeZ的(de)評論是(shi)：「每次表(biao)演時(shi)，雖然你們(men)(men)的(de)腳(jiao)步(bu)踩得超穩，但是(shi)手部動(dong)作卻異常優雅(ya)，這是(shi)你們(men)(men)與眾不同的(de)特點，也是(shi)我愛JabbaWockeeZ的(de)原因。」

假面舞客這個創意來自(zi)于Joseph Larot, Kevin Brewer和Phil Tayag三個人(ren)。

成員

當時整個團隊還(huan)包括另外五(wu)位成(cheng)員，他(ta)們共(gong)同創造了假面舞客的特殊風格(ge)。

這五位成員(yuan)分別是(shi)：Randy Bernal, Ryan Ellis, Chris Gatdula, Gary Kendell, Rainen Paguio。

2004年，假面舞(wu)客(ke)的成員人數(shu)又(you)增加到了11個。

所(suo)增(zeng)加(jia)的那(nei)四位成員分別(bie)為：Ben Chung, Eddie Gutierrez, Saso Jimenez和Jeff "Phi” Nguyen。

舞者花絮

BEN CHUNG AKA 'B-TEK'在2002年自UC Irvine畢業，他也曾是Kaba Modern的舞。

JabbaWockeeZ在參(can)加ABDC之(zhi)前甫遇團員不幸逝(shi)(shi)世(shi)之(zhi)慟。他(ta)們在audition時便提到(dao)，他(ta)們希(xi)望為逝(shi)(shi)世(shi)的團員拿下冠軍，所以他(ta)們每次表演或(huo)謝幕(mu)時常指著上方，象徵心永遠同在。

The group gained fame by appearing on America's Got Talent before winning the MTV hip hop dance reality series America's Best Dance Crew on March 27, 2008. The crew has won $100,000 and a touring contract after being crowned as America's Best Dance Crew in season one. The crew is known for wearing plain white masks and gloves and performing synchronized dance moves. Their name is derived from the Lewis Carroll poem Jabberwocky (featured in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland).

Originally the group that was going to compete on America's Best Dance Crew had seven members, including the late Gary Kendell. Unfortunately, Kendell passed away shortly before the group's start on the show America's Best Dance Crew due to pneumonia. The six JabbaWockeeZ members on the show told the judges during the Live Auditions Special that Gary was the "Yoda" of their crew and that they were doing the show for him. They have stated, "As a tribute to him we point our fingers in the air after each performance
