或(huo)曰(yue):“賦(fu)者(zhe),古詩(shi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)流也(ye)。”昔成、康沒而(er)頌聲寢,王(wang)澤竭而(er)詩(shi)不(bu)作。大(da)漢初定,日(ri)不(bu)暇給。至(zhi)于(yu)(yu)武、宣(xuan)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)世(shi),乃(nai)崇禮官,考文章。內設(she)金馬(ma)(ma)、石渠之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)署(shu),外興樂府、協律(lv)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)事(shi),以(yi)興廢(fei)繼絕,潤色鴻業。是以(yi)眾(zhong)庶(shu)悅(yue)豫,福應尤盛(sheng)(sheng),白(bai)麟、赤雁、芝(zhi)房、寶鼎之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)歌,薦于(yu)(yu)郊廟。神雀、五(wu)鳳、甘(gan)露、黃龍之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)瑞,以(yi)為年紀(ji)。故(gu)言(yan)語侍從之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)臣,若司(si)馬(ma)(ma)相如、虞(yu)丘壽王(wang)、東方朔(shuo)、枚皋、王(wang)褒、劉(liu)向之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)屬(shu),朝夕論(lun)思,日(ri)月(yue)獻(xian)納。而(er)公卿大(da)臣御(yu)史大(da)夫倪寬、太常(chang)孔臧、大(da)中大(da)夫董仲舒、宗(zong)正劉(liu)德(de)、太子太傅蕭望之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)等,時(shi)(shi)時(shi)(shi)間作。或(huo)以(yi)抒(shu)下情而(er)通諷諭(yu),或(huo)以(yi)宣(xuan)上(shang)德(de)而(er)盡忠孝(xiao)(xiao),雍(yong)容揄揚,著(zhu)于(yu)(yu)后(hou)嗣,抑亦《雅》《頌》之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)亞也(ye),故(gu)孝(xiao)(xiao)成之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)世(shi),論(lun)而(er)錄之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)。蓋(gai)奏御(yu)者(zhe)千有余篇,而(er)后(hou)大(da)漢之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)文章,炳焉與(yu)三代同風。且夫道有夷(yi)隆(long),學有粗(cu)密,因(yin)時(shi)(shi)而(er)建德(de)者(zhe),不(bu)以(yi)遠近易(yi)則,故(gu)皋陶歌虞(yu),奚斯頌魯,同見(jian)采于(yu)(yu)孔氏(shi),列(lie)于(yu)(yu)《詩(shi)》《書》,其(qi)(qi)義(yi)一(yi)也(ye)。稽之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)上(shang)古則如彼,考之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)漢室又(you)如此(ci)。斯事(shi)雖細(xi),然(ran)先(xian)臣之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)舊式(shi),國家之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)遺美,不(bu)可(ke)闕也(ye)。臣竊見(jian)海(hai)內清平,朝廷無事(shi),京(jing)師修宮(gong)室,浚城隍(huang),起(qi)苑(yuan)囿,以(yi)備(bei)制度。西土耆老,咸懷(huai)怨思,冀上(shang)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)眷(juan)顧,而(er)盛(sheng)(sheng)稱長安舊制,有陋雒(luo)邑之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)議(yi)。故(gu)臣作《兩都賦(fu)》,以(yi)極眾(zhong)人(ren)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)所眩曜,折以(yi)今(jin)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)法度,其(qi)(qi)詞曰(yue):
西都賦
有西都賓(bin)問于東都主(zhu)人(ren)曰:“蓋(gai)聞皇漢之(zhi)初經營也,嘗(chang)有意乎都河、洛矣。輟而(er)弗康(kang),實(shi)用西遷(qian),作我上都。主(zhu)人(ren)聞其(qi)故而(er)睹其(qi)制(zhi)乎?”主(zhu)人(ren)曰:“未(wei)也。愿賓(bin)攄懷舊(jiu)之(zhi)蓄(xu)念,發思古之(zhi)幽情,博我以皇道,弘(hong)我以漢京。”賓(bin)曰:“唯(wei)唯(wei)。”
“漢(han)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)西都,在(zai)于(yu)雍州(zhou),實(shi)曰長安。左據函谷、二(er)(er)崤(yao)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)阻,表以(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)太(tai)華、終(zhong)南(nan)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)山。右界(jie)褒斜(xie)、隴首(shou)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)險(xian),帶以(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)洪河、涇、渭之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)川(chuan)。眾(zhong)流之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)隈,汧涌(yong)其(qi)西。華實(shi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)毛(mao),則九(jiu)州(zhou)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)上腴焉。防御之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)阻,則天(tian)下之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)隩區焉。是(shi)故橫被六合,三成(cheng)帝畿,周(zhou)以(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)龍(long)興,秦以(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)虎視。及至大(da)漢(han)受命而(er)都之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)也,仰寤東(dong)井之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)精(jing),俯協(xie)《河圖(tu)》之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)靈。奉春(chun)(chun)建(jian)策,留侯演成(cheng)。天(tian)人合應,以(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)發皇明,乃(nai)眷西顧,實(shi)惟作京。于(yu)是(shi)睎秦嶺(ling),睋北阜,挾酆灞,據龍(long)首(shou)。圖(tu)皇基于(yu)億載,度宏規而(er)大(da)起。肇自(zi)高而(er)終(zhong)平,世增飾以(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)崇麗。歷十二(er)(er)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)延(yan)祚,故窮奢而(er)極侈。建(jian)金城(cheng)其(qi)萬雉,呀周(zhou)池而(er)成(cheng)淵。披三條之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)廣路,立十二(er)(er)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)通門。內則街衢洞達,閭閻且(qie)千,九(jiu)市開場(chang),貨別隧分。入不得顧,車不得旋,闐城(cheng)溢(yi)郭,旁流百廛(chan)。紅塵四合,煙(yan)云相連(lian)。于(yu)是(shi)既(ji)庶且(qie)富,娛(yu)樂無疆。都人士女(nv),殊異(yi)乎五(wu)方(fang)。游(you)士擬(ni)于(yu)公(gong)侯,列肆侈于(yu)姬(ji)姜。鄉曲豪舉,游(you)俠之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)雄,節慕原(yuan)、嘗,名亞春(chun)(chun)、陵。連(lian)交合眾(zhong),騁(cheng)騖乎其(qi)中。
“若乃觀(guan)其四郊,浮游(you)近縣,則(ze)南望杜(du)、霸,北眺五(wu)陵(ling)。名都對郭,邑居相(xiang)承。英俊之(zhi)域(yu),紱冕所(suo)(suo)興。冠蓋(gai)如(ru)云,七相(xiang)五(wu)公。與乎(hu)州郡之(zhi)豪杰,五(wu)都之(zhi)貨殖,三(san)(san)選(xuan)七遷,充奉陵(ling)邑。蓋(gai)以(yi)強(qiang)干弱枝,隆上都而(er)(er)觀(guan)萬國也。封(feng)畿之(zhi)內(nei),厥土(tu)千里,逴躒諸夏(xia),兼其所(suo)(suo)有(you)(you)。其陽則(ze)崇山隱天,幽(you)林穹谷(gu),陸(lu)海珍(zhen)藏,藍田美玉。商、洛緣其隈,鄠(hu)、杜(du)濱其足(zu),源(yuan)泉灌(guan)注,陂(po)池交屬。竹林果園,芳草甘木,郊野之(zhi)富(fu),號為近蜀。其陰則(ze)冠以(yi)九嵕,陪以(yi)甘泉,乃有(you)(you)靈宮起乎(hu)其中。秦(qin)漢(han)之(zhi)所(suo)(suo)以(yi)極觀(guan),淵云之(zhi)所(suo)(suo)頌嘆,于(yu)是乎(hu)存焉。下有(you)(you)鄭、白之(zhi)沃(wo),衣食之(zhi)源(yuan)。提封(feng)五(wu)萬,疆埸(yi)綺分,溝(gou)塍刻縷,原(yuan)隰龍鱗,決(jue)渠降雨,荷插成(cheng)云。五(wu)谷(gu)垂(chui)穎,桑麻鋪棻。東郊則(ze)有(you)(you)通(tong)溝(gou)大漕,潰渭洞(dong)河,泛舟山東,控引(yin)淮(huai)湖,與海通(tong)波。西郊則(ze)有(you)(you)上囿禁苑,林麓(lu)藪(sou)澤,陂(po)池連(lian)乎(hu)蜀漢(han),繚(liao)以(yi)周(zhou)墻,四百余里。離宮別(bie)館,三(san)(san)十六所(suo)(suo)。神池靈沼(zhao),往往而(er)(er)在。其中乃有(you)(you)九真之(zhi)麟(lin),大宛之(zhi)馬,黃(huang)支之(zhi)犀,條支之(zhi)鳥。逾昆(kun)侖,越(yue)巨(ju)海,殊方異類,至于(yu)三(san)(san)萬里。
“其(qi)宮(gong)室也,體(ti)象乎(hu)(hu)(hu)天地(di),經緯乎(hu)(hu)(hu)陰陽(yang)(yang)。據坤(kun)靈(ling)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)正位(wei),放(fang)太(tai)紫之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)圓方。樹中之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)華闕,豐冠山之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)朱(zhu)堂(tang)。因瑰材而(er)究奇,抗應龍之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)虹梁。列(lie)棼橑以(yi)布(bu)翼,荷(he)棟(dong)桴而(er)高(gao)驤。雕玉瑱以(yi)居(ju)楹,裁金壁以(yi)飾珰(dang)。發五色(se)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)渥彩,光(guang)焰(yan)朗以(yi)景彰(zhang)。于(yu)(yu)(yu)(yu)(yu)是左(zuo)墄(ce)右(you)平,重軒三階。閨房周(zhou)通(tong),門(men)闥洞開。列(lie)鐘虡(ju)于(yu)(yu)(yu)(yu)(yu)中庭(ting),立(li)金人(ren)于(yu)(yu)(yu)(yu)(yu)端闈(wei)。仍增(zeng)崖(ya)而(er)衡閾,臨(lin)峻路(lu)而(er)啟扉。徇以(yi)離殿(dian)別寢,承以(yi)崇臺閑館(guan),煥若(ruo)列(lie)宿,紫宮(gong)是環。清涼、宣(xuan)溫、神(shen)仙(xian)、長年、金華、玉堂(tang)、白(bai)虎、麒麟,區宇(yu)若(ruo)茲,不可殫論。增(zeng)盤崔嵬,登降(jiang)炤爛,殊形(xing)(xing)詭制(zhi),每各(ge)異(yi)觀。乘茵步輦,惟所息(xi)宴。后(hou)宮(gong)則有(you)掖庭(ting)、椒房,后(hou)妃之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)室。合歡(huan)、增(zeng)城、安處、常寧、茝若(ruo)、椒風、披香、發越、蘭林、蕙草、鴛鸞(luan)、飛(fei)翔之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)列(lie),昭陽(yang)(yang)特盛(sheng),隆乎(hu)(hu)(hu)孝(xiao)成。屋不呈材,墻不露形(xing)(xing)。裛以(yi)藻(zao)繡,絡(luo)以(yi)綸連。隨侯明月,錯落其(qi)間。金釭銜璧(bi),是為列(lie)錢。翡翠火齊,流耀含英。懸黎垂棘(ji),夜光(guang)在焉。于(yu)(yu)(yu)(yu)(yu)是玄墀筘砌,玉階彤庭(ting),碝磩彩致,琳珉青熒,珊瑚碧(bi)樹,周(zhou)阿而(er)生(sheng)。紅羅颯纚,綺組繽紛。精曜(yao)華燭,俯(fu)仰(yang)如神(shen)。后(hou)宮(gong)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)號,十有(you)四位(wei)。窈窕繁(fan)華,更盛(sheng)迭貴(gui)。處乎(hu)(hu)(hu)斯列(lie)者,蓋以(yi)百(bai)數。左(zuo)右(you)庭(ting)中,朝(chao)堂(tang)百(bai)寮之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)位(wei),蕭、曹、魏、邴,謀謨乎(hu)(hu)(hu)其(qi)上。佐命則垂統,輔翼則成化。流大漢之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)愷悌,蕩(dang)亡秦之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)毒螫。故令斯人(ren)揚樂(le)和之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)聲,作畫一(yi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)歌。功德著于(yu)(yu)(yu)(yu)(yu)祖(zu)宗,膏(gao)澤洽于(yu)(yu)(yu)(yu)(yu)黎庶。又(you)有(you)天祿、石渠(qu),典籍之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)府(fu)。命夫諄誨故老,名儒師傅,講論乎(hu)(hu)(hu)六藝,稽合乎(hu)(hu)(hu)同異(yi)。又(you)有(you)承明、金馬、著作之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)庭(ting)。大雅宏達,于(yu)(yu)(yu)(yu)(yu)茲為群。元元本本,周(zhou)見(jian)洽聞。啟發篇章,校理(li)秘文(wen)。周(zhou)以(yi)鉤陳之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)位(wei),衛以(yi)嚴更之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)署,總(zong)禮官之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)甲科,群百(bai)郡之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)廉孝(xiao)。虎賁贅衣(yi),閹尹閽寺。陛(bi)戟百(bai)重,各(ge)有(you)典司。
“周(zhou)(zhou)廬千(qian)列,徼道(dao)(dao)綺錯。輦路(lu)經(jing)營,修除飛(fei)閣。自未(wei)央而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)連桂宮,北彌明(ming)光而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)亙長樂。凌隥道(dao)(dao)而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)超西(xi)墉,掍(gun)建(jian)章而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)連外屬(shu)。設(she)璧(bi)門之(zhi)(zhi)鳳闕,上觚棱而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)棲金爵(jue)。內則別風之(zhi)(zhi)嶕峣,眇麗巧而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)聳擢,張千(qian)門而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)立(li)(li)萬戶(hu),順陰陽以(yi)(yi)(yi)開闔(he)。爾乃(nai)正(zheng)殿(dian)崔嵬,層構(gou)厥高,臨(lin)乎(hu)未(wei)央。經(jing)駘(tai)蕩而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)出(chu)(chu)馺娑,洞枍詣(yi)以(yi)(yi)(yi)與天梁。上反宇以(yi)(yi)(yi)蓋戴,激日景而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)納光。神明(ming)郁(yu)其特起,遂偃蹇而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)上躋。軼云雨于(yu)(yu)太半,虹(hong)霓回帶于(yu)(yu)棼(fen)楣(mei)。雖輕迅與僄狡,猶愕(e)眙(yi)而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)不(bu)(bu)能階。攀井(jing)干而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)未(wei)半,目眴轉(zhuan)而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)意迷,舍欞檻而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)卻倚,若(ruo)顛(dian)墜而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)復稽,魂(hun)怳怳以(yi)(yi)(yi)失(shi)度,巡回途而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)下(xia)低,既懲(cheng)懼(ju)于(yu)(yu)登望,降周(zhou)(zhou)流以(yi)(yi)(yi)彷徨。步甬道(dao)(dao)以(yi)(yi)(yi)縈(ying)紆,又杳窱(tiao)而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)不(bu)(bu)見陽。排飛(fei)闥而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)上出(chu)(chu),若(ruo)游目于(yu)(yu)天表,似無依而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)洋(yang)洋(yang)。前唐中而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)后太液,攬滄(cang)海之(zhi)(zhi)湯湯。揚波濤(tao)于(yu)(yu)碣石(shi),激神岳之(zhi)(zhi)嶈(qiang)嶈(qiang)。濫瀛洲與方壺,蓬萊起乎(hu)中央。于(yu)(yu)是靈草冬(dong)榮(rong),神木叢生。巖峻崷崪(zu),金石(shi)崢(zheng)嶸。抗(kang)仙(xian)(xian)掌以(yi)(yi)(yi)承露,擢雙(shuang)立(li)(li)之(zhi)(zhi)金莖,軼埃壒之(zhi)(zhi)混濁,鮮(xian)顥(hao)氣之(zhi)(zhi)清(qing)英(ying)。騁(cheng)文(wen)成(cheng)之(zhi)(zhi)丕誕,馳五利之(zhi)(zhi)所(suo)刑。庶松喬之(zhi)(zhi)群(qun)類,時游從(cong)乎(hu)斯(si)庭。實列仙(xian)(xian)之(zhi)(zhi)攸館,非吾人(ren)之(zhi)(zhi)所(suo)寧。
“爾乃盛娛游之壯觀,奮泰武(wu)(wu)乎上囿。因茲以威戎夸狄(di),耀威靈而(er)講武(wu)(wu)事。命荊州(zhou)使(shi)起鳥(niao)(niao)、詔(zhao)梁野而(er)驅獸(shou)(shou)。毛群內闐,飛(fei)羽上覆(fu),接翼(yi)側足,集禁(jin)林(lin)而(er)屯聚(ju)。水(shui)衡虞人(ren),修其(qi)營表(biao)。種別群分,部曲有署。罘(fu)網連纮,籠山(shan)絡野。列卒周(zhou)匝,星羅云布。于是乘鑾(luan)輿,備法駕,帥群臣,披飛(fei)廉,入(ru)苑門。遂繞酆(feng)鄗(hao),歷上蘭。六師(shi)(shi)發逐,百獸(shou)(shou)駭殫,震震爚爚,雷奔電激,草(cao)木(mu)涂地(di),山(shan)淵反覆(fu)。蹂躪其(qi)十二三,乃拗(ao)怒而(er)少(shao)息。爾乃期門佽(ci)飛(fei),列刃鉆(zhan)鍭,要(yao)趹(jue)追蹤。鳥(niao)(niao)驚(jing)觸(chu)絲(si),獸(shou)(shou)駭值鋒(feng)。機(ji)不(bu)虛(xu)掎(ji),弦不(bu)再控。矢不(bu)單殺,中必疊(die)雙。颮颮紛紛,矰繳(jiao)相(xiang)纏。風(feng)毛雨血,灑(sa)野蔽(bi)天。平(ping)原赤,勇(yong)士厲。猿狖失木(mu),豺狼懾竄。爾乃移(yi)師(shi)(shi)趨險(xian),并(bing)蹈(dao)潛穢。窮虎(hu)奔突,狂兕觸(chu)蹶。許少(shao)施巧,秦成力折。掎(ji)僄狡,扼猛噬。脫角挫脰,徒搏獨殺。挾師(shi)(shi)豹,拖熊螭。曳犀犛,頓象羆。超洞壑(he),越峻崖(ya)。蹶巉巖(yan),巨石(shi)頹。松柏仆,叢林(lin)摧。草(cao)木(mu)無余,禽獸(shou)(shou)殄夷。

“若臣者徒觀跡于舊墟,聞之乎故(gu)老,十分而未得其一端,故(gu)不能遍舉也。”
東都賦
東(dong)都主人(ren)喟然而(er)(er)嘆曰:“痛乎風俗之(zhi)移人(ren)也(ye)。子(zi)實秦人(ren),矜(jin)夸館室,保(bao)界河(he)山,信識(shi)昭、襄而(er)(er)知始皇(huang)矣,烏(wu)睹大漢之(zhi)云(yun)為(wei)乎?夫大漢之(zhi)開元也(ye),奮布衣以登皇(huang)位,由(you)數期而(er)(er)創萬代,蓋六(liu)籍所不(bu)(bu)能(neng)談(tan),前圣靡得言焉當此之(zhi)時,功(gong)有(you)橫而(er)(er)當天,討有(you)逆(ni)而(er)(er)順民。故婁敬度勢而(er)(er)獻其(qi)說,蕭(xiao)公權(quan)宜(yi)而(er)(er)拓(tuo)其(qi)制。時豈(qi)泰而(er)(er)安之(zhi)哉(zai),計不(bu)(bu)得以已也(ye)。吾子(zi)曾不(bu)(bu)是睹,顧曜(yao)后(hou)嗣之(zhi)末造,不(bu)(bu)亦暗乎?今將語子(zi)以建武之(zhi)治,永平之(zhi)事,監于太清(qing),以變(bian)子(zi)之(zhi)惑(huo)志。
“往者王(wang)莽作(zuo)(zuo)逆,漢祚中缺,天(tian)人致誅,六(liu)合相滅。于時之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)亂(luan),生(sheng)人幾亡,鬼神泯絕,壑(he)無完柩(jiu),郛罔遺室。原野厭人之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)肉(rou),川谷流人之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)血,秦、項之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)災,猶不克半,書契以(yi)來,未(wei)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)或紀(ji)。故下人號而(er)(er)上訴(su),上帝(di)懷而(er)(er)降監,乃(nai)致命乎(hu)(hu)圣皇(huang)。于是圣皇(huang)乃(nai)握乾符,闡坤珍(zhen),披皇(huang)圖,稽帝(di)文,赫然發憤(fen),應若興云(yun),霆擊昆陽,憑(ping)怒雷震(zhen)。遂超(chao)大河,跨北岳,立(li)號高邑,建都河、洛。紹(shao)百(bai)王(wang)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)荒屯,因造(zao)化之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)蕩滌,體元(yuan)立(li)制(zhi),繼天(tian)而(er)(er)作(zuo)(zuo)。系唐(tang)統,接漢緒(xu),茂(mao)育群生(sheng),恢復(fu)(fu)疆宇,勛兼乎(hu)(hu)在昔(xi),事勤乎(hu)(hu)三五。豈特方軌并跡,紛紛后辟,治(zhi)近(jin)古之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)所(suo)務,蹈一圣之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)險易云(yun)爾哉。且(qie)夫(fu)建武(wu)(wu)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)元(yuan),天(tian)地革命,四海之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)內(nei),更造(zao)夫(fu)婦,肇(zhao)有(you)父子(zi),君臣(chen)初(chu)建,人倫實始(shi),斯(si)(si)乃(nai)伏犧氏之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)所(suo)以(yi)基皇(huang)德(de)也(ye)(ye)。分州土(tu),立(li)市朝,作(zuo)(zuo)盤輿,造(zao)器械,斯(si)(si)乃(nai)軒轅氏之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)所(suo)以(yi)開帝(di)功也(ye)(ye)。龔行天(tian)罰,應天(tian)順人,斯(si)(si)乃(nai)湯(tang)、武(wu)(wu)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)所(suo)以(yi)昭王(wang)業也(ye)(ye)。遷都改邑,有(you)殷宗中興之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)則焉。即土(tu)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)中,有(you)周成隆平之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)制(zhi)焉。不階(jie)尺土(tu)一人之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)柄,同符乎(hu)(hu)高祖。克己復(fu)(fu)禮,以(yi)奉終始(shi),允(yun)恭乎(hu)(hu)孝文。憲(xian)章稽古,封岱(dai)勒成,儀炳乎(hu)(hu)世宗。案《六(liu)經》而(er)(er)校德(de),眇古昔(xi)而(er)(er)論功,仁(ren)圣之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)事既該,而(er)(er)帝(di)王(wang)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)道(dao)備矣。
“至(zhi)于永平之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)際(ji),重熙(xi)而(er)累洽(qia),盛(sheng)(sheng)三雍(yong)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)上儀(yi),修(xiu)袞龍之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)法服,鋪鴻藻,信景鑠(shuo),揚世廟,正(zheng)雅樂(le)(le)。人神(shen)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)和允洽(qia),群臣(chen)(chen)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)序既肅。乃(nai)動大輅,遵皇(huang)衢,省方巡狩,窮(qiong)覽萬(wan)國之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)有無,考聲(sheng)(sheng)教之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)所(suo)被(bei),散皇(huang)明(ming)以(yi)(yi)(yi)燭幽(you)。然后(hou)(hou)增周舊,修(xiu)洛邑,扇(shan)巍巍,顯翼(yi)翼(yi)。光(guang)漢京于諸夏(xia),總八方而(er)為之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)極(ji)。是以(yi)(yi)(yi)皇(huang)城之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)內(nei),宮室光(guang)明(ming),闕庭(ting)神(shen)麗(li)(li),奢不(bu)(bu)可(ke)逾,儉不(bu)(bu)能侈。外則因(yin)原野(ye)以(yi)(yi)(yi)作苑,填(tian)流泉(quan)而(er)為沼,發蘋藻以(yi)(yi)(yi)潛魚(yu)(yu),豐圃(pu)草以(yi)(yi)(yi)毓獸(shou),制(zhi)同(tong)乎(hu)梁鄒,誼合乎(hu)靈囿。若乃(nai)順時節而(er)蒐狩,簡車(che)(che)(che)徒以(yi)(yi)(yi)講武(wu),則必臨之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)以(yi)(yi)(yi)《王(wang)制(zhi)》,考之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)以(yi)(yi)(yi)《風》《雅》,歷(li)《騶虞》,覽《駟鐵》,嘉《車(che)(che)(che)攻》,采《吉日》,禮(li)官整儀(yi),乘輿乃(nai)出(chu)。于是發鯨魚(yu)(yu),鏗華鐘,登玉輅,乘時龍,鳳蓋棽麗(li)(li),和鑾(luan)玲瓏,天官景從,寢(qin)威盛(sheng)(sheng)容。山(shan)靈護野(ye),屬(shu)(shu)御方神(shen),雨(yu)師泛(fan)灑,風伯清(qing)塵,千乘雷起,萬(wan)騎紛紜,元戎竟野(ye),戈鋌彗云,羽旄(mao)掃霓(ni),旌(jing)旗拂天。焱焱炎炎,揚光(guang)飛文,吐焰(yan)生(sheng)風,欱野(ye)噴(pen)山(shan),日月為之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)奪明(ming),丘陵為之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)搖震。遂(sui)集乎(hu)中囿,陳(chen)師案(an)屯,駢部曲(qu),列校(xiao)隊,勒三軍,誓將帥。然后(hou)(hou)舉(ju)烽伐鼓(gu),申令三驅,輶車(che)(che)(che)霆激,驍騎電騖,由基發射,范氏施御,弦(xian)不(bu)(bu)睼是禽(qin),轡(pei)不(bu)(bu)詭(gui)遇,飛者未(wei)及翔,走(zou)者未(wei)及去。指顧倏忽(hu),獲車(che)(che)(che)已實(shi),樂(le)(le)不(bu)(bu)極(ji)盤,殺不(bu)(bu)盡(jin)物,馬踠余(yu)足,士怒未(wei)渫,先驅復(fu)路,屬(shu)(shu)車(che)(che)(che)案(an)節。于是薦三犧(xi),效五(wu)(wu)牲(sheng),禮(li)神(shen)祇,懷百(bai)(bai)靈,覲明(ming)堂(tang),臨辟雍(yong),揚緝(ji)熙(xi),宣皇(huang)風,登靈臺,考休徵。俯(fu)仰乎(hu)乾(qian)坤,參象乎(hu)圣(sheng)躬,目中夏(xia)而(er)布(bu)德,瞰四(si)裔而(er)抗棱。西蕩河源,東澹海漘,北動幽(you)崖,南趯(yue)朱(zhu)垠。殊方別區,界(jie)絕而(er)不(bu)(bu)鄰。自孝武(wu)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)所(suo)不(bu)(bu)征,孝宣之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)所(suo)未(wei)臣(chen)(chen),莫不(bu)(bu)陸詟水栗,奔走(zou)而(er)來賓。遂(sui)綏(sui)哀(ai)牢(lao),開永昌(chang),春王(wang)三朝,會同(tong)漢京。是日也,天子(zi)受(shou)四(si)海之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)圖籍,膺萬(wan)國之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)貢珍(zhen),內(nei)撫諸夏(xia),外綏(sui)百(bai)(bai)蠻。爾乃(nai)盛(sheng)(sheng)禮(li)興樂(le)(le),供帳置乎(hu)云龍之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)庭(ting),陳(chen)百(bai)(bai)寮而(er)贊群后(hou)(hou),究皇(huang)儀(yi)而(er)展帝容。于是庭(ting)實(shi)千品,旨酒萬(wan)鐘,列金罍(lei),班(ban)玉觴,嘉珍(zhen)御,太牢(lao)饗。爾乃(nai)食舉(ju)《雍(yong)》徹,太師奏樂(le)(le),陳(chen)金石,布(bu)絲竹,鐘鼓(gu)鏗鍧,管弦(xian)燁煜(yu)。抗五(wu)(wu)聲(sheng)(sheng),極(ji)六律,歌(ge)九功,舞八佾,《韶》《武(wu)》備,泰古華。四(si)夷間奏,德廣(guang)所(suo)及,僸(jin)佅兜(dou)離,罔不(bu)(bu)具集。萬(wan)樂(le)(le)備,百(bai)(bai)禮(li)暨,皇(huang)歡(huan)浹,群臣(chen)(chen)醉,降煙煴,調(diao)元氣(qi),然后(hou)(hou)撞鐘告罷,百(bai)(bai)寮遂(sui)退(tui)。
“是圣上(shang)親萬方之(zhi)(zhi)歡娛,又(you)沐浴于(yu)(yu)(yu)膏澤,懼其(qi)侈心(xin)(xin)之(zhi)(zhi)將萌(meng),而(er)怠于(yu)(yu)(yu)東(dong)作(zuo)也,乃申舊間,下明詔,命有(you)司,班憲度,昭節儉,示太素(su)。去后宮之(zhi)(zhi)麗飾,損(sun)乘輿之(zhi)(zhi)服御,抑工商(shang)之(zhi)(zhi)淫業,興(xing)農桑之(zhi)(zhi)盛務。遂令海內棄末而(er)反本,背偽而(er)歸(gui)真,女修織,男務耕(geng)耘,器用陶匏,服尚素(su)玄(xuan),恥纖靡而(er)不(bu)服,賤(jian)奇(qi)麗而(er)弗珍,捐金于(yu)(yu)(yu)山,沈珠(zhu)于(yu)(yu)(yu)淵。于(yu)(yu)(yu)是百姓滌瑕蕩穢,而(er)鏡至(zhi)清,形神寂(ji)漠(mo),耳目弗營(ying),嗜欲之(zhi)(zhi)源滅,廉恥之(zhi)(zhi)心(xin)(xin)生,莫不(bu)優游而(er)自(zi)得(de),玉(yu)潤而(er)金聲。是以四海之(zhi)(zhi)內,學校如林,庠(xiang)序(xu)盈門,獻酬交(jiao)錯,俎(zu)豆莘莘,下舞上(shang)歌,蹈德(de)詠(yong)仁(ren)。登降飪宴之(zhi)(zhi)禮既畢,因相與嗟嘆玄(xuan)德(de),讜言弘說,咸含(han)和而(er)吐氣,頌曰:盛哉乎(hu)斯世!
“今(jin)論(lun)者但知誦(song)虞(yu)、夏之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)《書》,詠殷(yin)、周之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)《詩(shi)》,講羲(xi)、文(wen)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)《易》,論(lun)孔氏(shi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)《春秋》,罕能精古今(jin)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)清(qing)濁(zhuo),究漢德之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)所(suo)由。唯子頗(po)識舊典,又徒馳騁乎(hu)末(mo)流。溫故(gu)知新(xin)已難,而知德者鮮矣。且夫(fu)僻界西戎(rong),險阻四塞,修其防御(yu),孰與(yu)(yu)處乎(hu)土(tu)中,平(ping)夷洞達,萬(wan)方輻湊?秦嶺、九嵕,涇(jing)、渭之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)川(chuan),曷(he)若(ruo)四瀆、五岳,帶河溯洛(luo)(luo),圖書之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)淵?建章(zhang)、甘泉,館御(yu)列仙,孰與(yu)(yu)靈臺、明堂(tang),統和天人?太液、昆(kun)明,鳥獸之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)囿,曷(he)若(ruo)辟雍(yong)海(hai)流,道(dao)德之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)富?游(you)俠逾侈,犯義侵禮,孰與(yu)(yu)同履法度(du),翼翼濟濟也(ye)?子徒習秦阿房(fang)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)造(zao)天,而不知京洛(luo)(luo)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)有(you)制也(ye)。識函谷之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)可關,而不知王者之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)無外也(ye)。”
主人之辭(ci)未終,西都賓矍然失容(rong),逡巡(xun)降階(jie),揲然意下,捧手欲辭(ci)。”主人曰:“復(fu)位,今(jin)將授予以五篇之詩。”賓既(ji)卒業,乃稱曰:“美哉乎(hu)斯(si)詩!義正(zheng)乎(hu)揚雄,事(shi)實(shi)乎(hu)相如,匪唯主人之好學,蓋乃遭遇乎(hu)斯(si)時也。小子狂簡,不知所裁,既(ji)聞正(zheng)道,請終身而誦之。”
其詩曰:
于昭明(ming)堂,明(ming)堂孔陽(yang)。圣皇宗祀,穆穆煌煌。上(shang)帝宴饗,五(wu)位時序。誰其配之?世祖、光武。普(pu)天率士,各以其職。猗(yi)歟緝(ji)熙(xi),允懷多福。(明(ming)堂詩)

班(ban)固(gu)(公(gong)(gong)元(yuan)(yuan)32年(nian)—公(gong)(gong)元(yuan)(yuan)92年(nian)),字孟堅(jian),扶風安陵(ling)(今陜西咸陽(yang)東北)人,班(ban)彪(biao)長(chang)(chang)子。九歲能文。建(jian)武二十三(san)年(nian)(公(gong)(gong)元(yuan)(yuan)47年(nian))前后(hou)入(ru)洛陽(yang)太(tai)學,博覽群書,窮究(jiu)九流百家之(zhi)言(yan)。建(jian)武三(san)十年(nian)(公(gong)(gong)元(yuan)(yuan)54年(nian)),其(qi)父班(ban)彪(biao)卒(zu),自(zi)(zi)太(tai)學返回鄉里。為(wei)父守喪時(shi)期,在(zai)(zai)班(ban)彪(biao)續補《史記(ji)》之(zhi)作(zuo)《史記(ji)后(hou)傳》的基礎上開(kai)始編寫《漢(han)書》,至(zhi)建(jian)初年(nian)間基本完成(cheng)。漢(han)明帝(di)時(shi),曾任蘭(lan)臺令(ling)史,與陳宗、尹敏、孟異共同撰成(cheng)《世祖本紀》,升遷為(wei)郎,負(fu)責校定秘書。章帝(di)時(shi),以史官兼任記(ji)錄,奉命把(ba)討論(lun)結果整(zheng)理成(cheng)《白(bai)虎通(tong)義》,又稱《白(bai)虎通(tong)德論(lun)》。永元(yuan)(yuan)元(yuan)(yuan)年(nian)(公(gong)(gong)元(yuan)(yuan)89年(nian)),大將(jiang)軍竇憲奉旨(zhi)遠征匈奴,他(ta)參與謀議,竇憲在(zai)(zai)政爭中失敗(bai)自(zi)(zi)殺,洛陽(yang)令(ling)借機(ji)捕他(ta)入(ru)獄,后(hou)于(yu)永元(yuan)(yuan)四年(nian)(公(gong)(gong)元(yuan)(yuan)92年(nian))死于(yu)獄中。他(ta)擅長(chang)(chang)作(zuo)賦(fu),撰有《兩都賦(fu)》、《幽通(tong)賦(fu)》等。
《兩都(dou)(dou)賦(fu)(fu)》在(zai)結(jie)體(ti)與(yu)手法(fa)上學習了司馬相如《子(zi)(zi)虛(xu)賦(fu)(fu)》《上林賦(fu)(fu)》的(de)結(jie)構(gou)方式,分《西都(dou)(dou)》、《東都(dou)(dou)》;《子(zi)(zi)虛(xu)賦(fu)(fu)》虛(xu)擬(ni)亡是(shi)(shi)公(gong)針(zhen)對(dui)楚之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)子(zi)(zi)虛(xu)、齊之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)烏有先生互相炫耀(yao),而(er)(er)明天子(zi)(zi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)義 ,《兩都(dou)(dou)賦(fu)(fu)》由虛(xu)擬(ni)東都(dou)(dou)主人針(zhen)對(dui)西都(dou)(dou)賓贊(zan)(zan)揚長(chang)安(an), 望朝廷(ting)西顧 ,而(er)(er)盛稱洛(luo)邑制度(du)(du),以折西賓淫(yin)(yin)侈(chi)(chi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)論。上篇只(zhi)寫西都(dou)(dou),下篇只(zhi)寫東都(dou)(dou),內(nei)容劃分清楚,結(jie)構(gou)較(jiao)為(wei)合理(li)。從主導(dao)思(si)想上說,他不(bu)在(zai)規模和繁(fan)華(hua)的(de)程度(du)(du)上貶西都(dou)(dou)而(er)(er)褒東都(dou)(dou),而(er)(er)從禮(li)(li)法(fa)的(de)角(jiao)度(du)(du),從制度(du)(du)上衡量此前贊(zan)(zan)美(mei)西都(dou)(dou)者(zhe)所述西都(dou)(dou)的(de)壯麗繁(fan)華(hua)實為(wei)奢(she)(she)淫(yin)(yin)過度(du)(du),無益于(yu)天下。《西都(dou)(dou)賦(fu)(fu)》寫長(chang)安(an)都(dou)(dou)城(cheng)的(de)壯麗宏大,宮(gong)殿之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)奇偉(wei)華(hua)美(mei),后(hou)宮(gong)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)奢(she)(she)侈(chi)(chi)淫(yin)(yin)靡(mi),也極盡鋪排之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)能事,使(shi)作者(zhe)著實表現(xian)出了寫騁(cheng)辭大賦(fu)(fu)的(de)才能。但結(jie)果(guo)卻不(bu)是(shi)(shi)寫得越奢(she)(she)華(hua)便越體(ti)現(xian)著作者(zhe)對(dui)它的(de)贊(zan)(zan)揚,而(er)(er)是(shi)(shi)折之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)以法(fa)度(du)(du),衡之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)以王制。《東都(dou)(dou)賦(fu)(fu)》寫洛(luo)陽,雖也寫宮(gong)室(shi)(shi)、田獵的(de)內(nei)容,但比較(jiao)概(gai)括,而(er)(er)從禮(li)(li)法(fa)制度(du)(du)出發,宣揚“宮(gong)室(shi)(shi)光明,闕庭神麗,奢(she)(she)不(bu)可逾,儉(jian)不(bu)能侈(chi)(chi)”,“順時節(jie)而(er)(er)蒐狩,簡(jian)車(che)徒以講武,則必臨之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)以《王制》,考之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)以《風》《雅》”。
杜篤的《論都(dou)賦(fu)》建議(yi)遷都(dou)長安,寫(xie)得很策略;班固維護建都(dou)洛陽(yang),在處(chu)理對前漢西都(dou)評價(jia)上,也極為謹(jin)慎小心。《東都(dou)賦(fu)》開(kai)頭云:“東都(dou)主(zhu)人喟(kui)然而嘆曰:‘痛乎(hu)風俗之(zhi)移人也。子(zi)實(shi)秦人,矜夸館室,保(bao)界河山,信識(shi)昭襄(xiang)而知始皇矣,烏(wu)睹大漢之(zhi)云為乎(hu)?’”
批評的(de)(de)矛(mao)頭(tou)對(dui)準的(de)(de)是秦皇而非漢(han)(han)(han)帝。下面接著一小段寫“大漢(han)(han)(han)之(zhi)(zhi)開元”,十分概(gai)括。因(yin)為后漢(han)(han)(han)以(yi)(yi)承前(qian)(qian)漢(han)(han)(han)之(zhi)(zhi)皇統(tong)(tong)自居,對(dui)前(qian)(qian)漢(han)(han)(han)不(bu)能不(bu)加肯(ken)定;但從前(qian)(qian)、后漢(han)(han)(han)的(de)(de)比較來說(shuo),當(dang)時統(tong)(tong)治者(zhe)需要的(de)(de)是對(dui)后漢(han)(han)(han)功業(ye)和(he)東都(dou)洛(luo)陽的(de)(de)贊揚、歌頌,故對(dui)前(qian)(qian)漢(han)(han)(han)的(de)(de)功業(ye)不(bu)能作太(tai)具體(ti)、詳細的(de)(de)表(biao)述。下面說(shuo):“今將語(yu)子以(yi)(yi)建(jian)武之(zhi)(zhi)治,永平之(zhi)(zhi)事,監于太(tai)清,以(yi)(yi)變子之(zhi)(zhi)惑志”,開始對(dui)后漢(han)(han)(han)王(wang)朝功業(ye)、禮制(zhi)的(de)(de)鋪敘。又(you)說(shuo):“遷都(dou)改(gai)邑,有(you)殷宗中興之(zhi)(zhi)則(ze)焉(yan);即土之(zhi)(zhi)中,有(you)周成隆(long)平之(zhi)(zhi)制(zhi)焉(yan)。”又(you)從歷史方面來論證定都(dou)洛(luo)邑,前(qian)(qian)有(you)先例,且居天下之(zhi)(zhi)中,得(de)地利之(zhi)(zhi)便(bian)。由賦中內容的(de)(de)安排和(he)措詞(ci)的(de)(de)上(shang)下照應情況,可以(yi)(yi)看出(chu)當(dang)時最高統(tong)(tong)治者(zhe)的(de)(de)心(xin)態和(he)班固對(dui)此的(de)(de)把(ba)握。
《東都賦》以(yi)封建禮法為準則,贊(zan)揚了建武、永平的盛世,以(yi)“盛乎斯世”一語作為大段(duan)描述的結尾,對西(xi)都賓先予(yu)(yu)稱(cheng)贊(zan),再(zai)予(yu)(yu)批評,行文搖曳多姿,善(shan)于(yu)達(da)意。下面(mian)又(you)將西(xi)都同東都的形勢及風俗直接(jie)加以(yi)比較(jiao):“且(qie)夫僻界西(xi)戎,險阻四塞,修其防(fang)御,孰(shu)(shu)與處乎土中,平夷洞(dong)達(da),萬方(fang)輻湊?秦嶺、九嵕(zong),涇、渭之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)川,曷(he)(he)若四瀆、五(wu)岳,帶河溯洛,圖書之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)淵?建章、甘泉,館御列仙,孰(shu)(shu)與靈臺、明(ming)堂(tang),統和天人?太(tai)液、昆(kun)明(ming),鳥獸之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)囿(you),曷(he)(he)若辟雍海流,道德(de)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)富?游俠逾(yu)侈,犯義侵禮,孰(shu)(shu)與同履法度(du),翼(yi)翼(yi)濟濟也?”
態度(du)(du)鮮明地(di)稱(cheng)贊(zan)東都(dou)洛(luo)陽地(di)利、形勢及禮(li)俗之淳厚,建筑、設置(zhi)之合于王道。“統和(he)(he)天人”、“同履法度(du)(du)”,點(dian)出了《東都(dou)賦》的(de)主題;“圖書(shu)之淵”、“道德之富”,是(shi)《東都(dou)賦》著力鋪敘、宣揚(yang)之所在。下面照應本篇開頭(tou)部(bu)分:“子徒習秦阿房之造天,而不(bu)知(zhi)京洛(luo)之有制也(ye);識函谷之可(ke)關(guan),而不(bu)知(zhi)王者之無外也(ye)”。完全(quan)以(yi)(yi)一個(ge)新的(de)尺度(du)(du)來衡(heng)量秦(實際上(shang)(shang)是(shi)代指西漢)和(he)(he)東漢王朝(chao)政教之得(de)失。接著以(yi)(yi)西都(dou)賓(bin)的(de)折(zhe)服為賦正文(wen)部(bu)分的(de)收束。這同《上(shang)(shang)林賦》的(de)結尾完全(quan)一樣。但整個(ge)說來,班固的(de)《兩都(dou)賦》開頭(tou)、結尾、過渡等章法更為嚴謹、自然,且富于情態,長于韻味。
班固《兩都賦》由(you)于創(chuang)作的(de)目的(de)在于表(biao)(biao)述一(yi)個(ge)政治問(wen)題上的(de)個(ge)人見解(jie),甚至是(shi)(shi)為(wei)了參與(yu)一(yi)場爭論,故它不似《子虛(xu)》《上林》的(de)有(you)很(hen)多虛(xu)夸(kua)的(de)部分(fen),以氣(qi)爭勝,而更多實證(zheng)。它主要(yao)不是(shi)(shi)抒發一(yi)種(zhong)情感,表(biao)(biao)現(xian)一(yi)種(zhong)精神(shen),而是(shi)(shi)要(yao)表(biao)(biao)現(xian)一(yi)種(zhong)思(si)想,體現(xian)一(yi)種(zhong)觀念。這也可(ke)以說是(shi)(shi)同時(shi)代風(feng)(feng)氣(qi)有(you)關,是(shi)(shi)當時(shi)文(wen)風(feng)(feng)和(he)社會風(feng)(feng)氣(qi)的(de)體現(xian)。另外,同該賦中強調禮制、強調崇儒思(si)想相一(yi)致,賦的(de)語言典雅和(he)麗(馬積高(gao)先生《賦史(shi)》即已指出這一(yi)點),節奏(zou)步武從容,和(he)鑾相鳴,可(ke)謂金(jin)聲玉(yu)振,有(you)廟堂朝儀的(de)風(feng)(feng)度。
在(zai)(zai)結(jie)構上,《兩都(dou)賦(fu)》對(dui)(dui)《子(zi)虛》《上林》也有(you)突破,上文已言(yan)及。下面再看(kan)(kan)看(kan)(kan)其結(jie)尾(wei)上的(de)創(chuang)意。作為全(quan)賦(fu)的(de)結(jie)束,《東都(dou)賦(fu)》末尾(wei)不(bu)是(shi)在(zai)(zai)西(xi)都(dou)賓“矍然(ran)(ran)失(shi)容(rong),逡巡降階,惵然(ran)(ran)意下,捧手欲辭”之(zhi)(zhi)后即結(jie)束,下面接上說:“主(zhu)人曰:復位,今將授予以(yi)五(wu)篇(pian)之(zhi)(zhi)詩(shi)。”大約(yue)是(shi)考慮到下面即錄附(fu)詩(shi),會使結(jie)尾(wei)割(ge)裂而失(shi)去風韻,故(gu)將詩(shi)附(fu)于篇(pian)末,而以(yi)西(xi)都(dou)賓的(de)稱贊為結(jie)尾(wei):賓既卒業,乃稱曰:“美哉乎(hu)斯詩(shi)!義(yi)正(zheng)乎(hu)揚雄(xiong),事實乎(hu)相如,匪唯主(zhu)人之(zhi)(zhi)好學(xue),蓋乃遭遇乎(hu)斯時也。小子(zi)狂簡,不(bu)知(zhi)所(suo)裁,既聞正(zheng)遭,請終身而誦之(zhi)(zhi)。”顯得輕松(song)而詼諧(xie),多少帶有(you)一點寓言(yan)的(de)味道,使這(zhe)篇(pian)騁辭大賦(fu)在(zai)(zai)莊嚴(yan)之(zhi)(zhi)中,帶有(you)活潑(po)之(zhi)(zhi)氣。其中“義(yi)正(zheng)乎(hu)揚雄(xiong),事實乎(hu)相如”,也可以(yi)看(kan)(kan)作是(shi)班固自己(ji)對(dui)(dui)《兩都(dou)賦(fu)》特色的(de)概括。
《兩都(dou)(dou)(dou)賦》所描述的(de)具(ju)體內容,已不(bu)(bu)再(zai)像司馬相如那樣重在(zai)帝王宮苑、游獵,而是借(jie)鑒揚(yang)雄(xiong)《蜀都(dou)(dou)(dou)賦》,創造性地發展為京都(dou)(dou)(dou)山河形勢(shi)、表里(li)布局和雄(xiong)偉氣象,雖然不(bu)(bu)能全免(mian)大賦夸(kua)張(zhang)渲染失(shi)實之(zhi)病,但由于采用(yong)(yong)了不(bu)(bu)少(shao)(shao)實際(ji)的(de)歷史地理資(zi)料(liao),而不(bu)(bu)顯過分虛(xu)浮,有真切的(de)現實感。《兩都(dou)(dou)(dou)賦》同《子(zi)虛(xu)》《上(shang)林》的(de)僅寫(xie)田獵者相比,內容要更為豐(feng)富、開闊(kuo),也(ye)更能集中地、多(duo)角度、多(duo)方面地展現一個時(shi)代政治、經濟(ji)、文(wen)化的(de)發展狀況。《兩都(dou)(dou)(dou)賦》中無(wu)論是都(dou)(dou)(dou)城形勝、街市繁(fan)華,還(huan)是郊野氣象、農桑豐(feng)碩,都(dou)(dou)(dou)有具(ju)體而生動的(de)藝(yi)術表現,做到了文(wen)贍(shan)而事(shi)詳 ,引(yin)人遐想。另外,在(zai)語言(yan)的(de)運(yun)用(yong)(yong)上(shang),排(pai)偶之(zhi)中,音調和諧(xie),極少(shao)(shao)奇僻的(de)異體字(zi),明暢順達,無(wu)漢賦常見(jian)的(de)臃腫澀滯(zhi)之(zhi)弊,又確實使(shi)讀之(zhi)者娓娓而不(bu)(bu)厭。
《兩(liang)都(dou)賦(fu)》被蕭(xiao)統《文選(xuan)》列(lie)為(wei)(wei)第(di)一(yi)篇(pian),劉勰也稱(cheng)其(qi)“明絢以雅(ya)贍(shan)”。后(hou)世時有人(ren)對《兩(liang)都(dou)賦(fu)》加以摹擬(ni),形成“京(jing)(jing)都(dou)賦(fu)”的類型。《文選(xuan)》分賦(fu)為(wei)(wei)十五(wu)類,“京(jing)(jing)都(dou)賦(fu)”列(lie)在第(di)一(yi)。《文苑英華》《歷代賦(fu)匯》等也有“京(jing)(jing)都(dou)”或“都(dou)邑”一(yi)類。
盡管在班固之(zhi)(zhi)前已有(you)京(jing)都(dou)賦(fu)(fu)之(zhi)(zhi)作,但(dan)能(neng)使這(zhe)類題材以(yi)及表現方式、結構(gou)方式結合而形成大賦(fu)(fu)的(de)一種門類,乃有(you)賴于《兩都(dou)賦(fu)(fu)》取(qu)得的(de)成就。歷史上很(hen)多優秀的(de)作品,尤其(qi)具(ju)有(you)某方面劃時(shi)代意義的(de)作品,往往成為后來作家學習、甚至(zhi)摹擬的(de)范本。班固之(zhi)(zhi)前的(de)京(jing)都(dou)之(zhi)(zhi)作,揚雄的(de)《蜀都(dou)賦(fu)(fu)》已有(you)殘(can)缺,崔骃、傅(fu)毅(yi)的(de)《反都(dou)賦(fu)(fu)》只(zhi)余殘(can)章(zhang)剩句,傅(fu)毅(yi)《洛都(dou)賦(fu)(fu)》也(ye)有(you)殘(can)缺,便說明(ming)了它們的(de)歷史地位。
盡管《兩都賦》在藝術上取(qu)得(de)了相當(dang)的(de)(de)(de)(de)成(cheng)就,歷(li)來(lai)為士大(da)夫所重(zhong),但是(shi)總體來(lai)看(kan),沒有也(ye)不可能從(cong)根本上革(ge)除早已(yi)被(bei)揚(yang)雄針砭的(de)(de)(de)(de)散體大(da)賦自身具有的(de)(de)(de)(de)通弊,從(cong)而(er)(er)扭轉其(qi)衰(shuai)竭(jie)之(zhi)勢。就賦體文學發(fa)展的(de)(de)(de)(de)趨(qu)勢而(er)(er)言,當(dang)大(da)賦已(yi)經定型為以窮泰極侈(chi)的(de)(de)(de)(de)筆墨達頌(song)圣(sheng)之(zhi)旨,即(ji)便有諷諭,也(ye)不過“勸百諷一” ,而(er)(er)以騷體為代(dai)表的(de)(de)(de)(de)抒(shu)發(fa)內心(xin)情懷之(zhi)賦,正(zheng)越(yue)(yue)來(lai)越(yue)(yue)成(cheng)熟,在顯示出(chu)強(qiang)勁(jing)的(de)(de)(de)(de)藝術生命力之(zhi)時,仍要恪守老路,企圖重(zhong)新振興,畢竟是(shi)違反客觀規律,逆歷(li)史潮(chao)流而(er)(er)動,斷不會成(cheng)功。
