據(ju)廟(miao)(miao)內元(yuan)元(yuan)統二年(nian)(1334)重修碑記載(zai),該廟(miao)(miao)創(chuang)建(jian)于隋代,北(bei)宋初重建(jian)圣母殿,建(jian)中靖國元(yuan)年(nian)(1101)重修。明崇禎五年(nian)(1632)進行(xing)了建(jian)廟(miao)(miao)以來規模大的一次(ci)維修。清代乃至民國年(nian)間亦多次(ci)修繕。
廟(miao)座北向南,為一進(jin)院。南北較(jiao)短(duan),東西較(jiao)寬。前有山門(men)戲樓,中(zhong)為獻亭,北為圣母殿。兩(liang)則配以耳殿。
東(dong)西(xi)院(yuan)現存(cun)李靖王(wang)殿(dian)(dian)、三(san)宮殿(dian)(dian)、閻君殿(dian)(dian)、十帥殿(dian)(dian)、關公(gong)殿(dian)(dian)、子孫殿(dian)(dian)及梳(shu)妝(zhuang)樓(lou)(lou)等(deng)建筑。殿(dian)(dian)宇錯落有致,殿(dian)(dian)頂(ding)形制各異。廟(miao)南(nan)、北、西(xi)三(san)面(mian)(mian)(mian)懸壁劈(pi)立,溝壑(he)縱橫,東(dong)面(mian)(mian)(mian)與(yu)場(chang)院(yuan)相連(lian)。山(shan)門(men)戲(xi)樓(lou)(lou)之前為一條形平臺,臺下為青(qing)石拱券(quan)的三(san)孔(kong)石窯(yao),南(nan)向排列,67級青(qing)石踏(ta)跺呈45°斜(xie)面(mian)(mian)(mian)壘(lei)砌而上(shang),可直達山(shan)門(men)。山(shan)門(men)門(men)洞為青(qing)磚拱券(quan)而成,門(men)上(shang)出(chu)(chu)抱廈形懸檐,筒板瓦(wa)(wa)裝(zhuang)修。既是裝(zhuang)飾構件,又(you)有遮雨(yu)避日之功效(xiao)。山(shan)門(men)門(men)道從戲(xi)樓(lou)(lou)底層明間(jian)開(kai)通,底層兩次間(jian)為封閉(bi)式(shi)隔間(jian)。戲(xi)樓(lou)(lou)面(mian)(mian)(mian)闊三(san)間(jian),進(jin)深(shen)四(si)架椽(chuan),單檐歇山(shan)頂(ding)。圓(yuan)柱(zhu)方額,斗拱華麗,始(shi)建于北宋建中(zhong)靖國年間(jian)。拜亭(ting)(ting)位居圣母殿(dian)(dian)與(yu)舞樓(lou)(lou)之間(jian)。高臺筑亭(ting)(ting),四(si)周青(qing)石壘(lei)砌,東(dong)西(xi)南(nan)三(san)面(mian)(mian)(mian)出(chu)(chu)臺明,設踏(ta)跺。亭(ting)(ting)面(mian)(mian)(mian)闊三(san)間(jian),進(jin)深(shen)五間(jian),廡殿(dian)(dian)頂(ding)建筑。亭(ting)(ting)內徹(che)上(shang)露明造(zao),梁架裝(zhuang)修等(deng)全(quan)部構件均為裸露。石柱(zhu)圓(yuan)梁,為原(yuan)始(shi)材料(liao)砍制后而使用,尚保留元代建筑風(feng)格。亭(ting)(ting)頂(ding)灰脊灰獸,筒板布(bu)瓦(wa)(wa)裝(zhuang)修。
這種廡殿(dian)(dian)頂的建筑。圣母(mu)殿(dian)(dian)居拜亭之后,高臺筑殿(dian)(dian),廣深各三間(jian)(jian),平面近方形,單檐(yan)九脊(ji)頂。柱(zhu)礎覆盆式(shi)(shi),蓮(lian)瓣雕刻較大,檐(yan)柱(zhu)側(ce)角升起(qi)較為(wei)明(ming)(ming)顯,梁(liang)架(jia)斗拱用(yong)材碩大,批竹式(shi)(shi)真(zhen)昂承(cheng)托梁(liang)架(jia)負荷,五(wu)抹頭麻葉形隔(ge)扇,破直(zhi)棱窗(chuang)裝修(xiu)(xiu),顯得(de)十分古樸雄渾(hun)。殿(dian)(dian)頂滿(man)覆琉璃(li)脊(ji)獸,筒板布瓦(wa)、琉璃(li)剪(jian)邊,舉折平緩。出檐(yan)深遠,四(si)翼而(er)飛(fei)。雖(sui)經元、明(ming)(ming)、清(qing)歷代(dai)重(zhong)修(xiu)(xiu),仍不失宋代(dai)建筑風格(ge)。東院(yuan)梳(shu)妝樓(lou),坐東向西,廣、深各三間(jian)(jian),二層四(si)檐(yan)支出平座,木制(zhi)欄桿圍欄,四(si)面隔(ge)扇門(men)窗(chuang)裝修(xiu)(xiu),明(ming)(ming)間(jian)(jian)辟門(men),次間(jian)(jian)破直(zhi)棱窗(chuang),雕梁(liang)畫棟,玲瓏剔透。重(zhong)檐(yan)歇山(shan)式(shi)(shi)屋頂,華麗挺拔,引人注目,是明(ming)(ming)代(dai)樓(lou)閣(ge)式(shi)(shi)建筑。其余(yu)殿(dian)(dian)宇多為(wei)三間(jian)(jian)面寬,懸山(shan)式(shi)(shi)形制(zhi),屬元明(ming)(ming)清(qing)時期(qi)的遺物。
廟(miao)內(nei)現存宋(song)、元(yuan)、明、清及(ji)民(min)國年(nian)間重(zhong)修(xiu)(xiu)(xiu)碑(bei)20余(yu)通,大多豎(shu)立于拜(bai)亭(ting)之內(nei)。碑(bei)文(wen)內(nei)容大都記(ji)(ji)載了(le)創(chuang)修(xiu)(xiu)(xiu)、增建(jian)(jian)及(ji)重(zhong)修(xiu)(xiu)(xiu)廟(miao)堂的(de)(de)(de)(de)歷史(shi)沿革和主要事宜。值得引起(qi)(qi)重(zhong)視的(de)(de)(de)(de)是(shi)(shi):宋(song)、元(yuan)、明、清四朝建(jian)(jian)筑(zhu)集于一(yi)廟(miao),國內(nei)現存的(de)(de)(de)(de)古代(dai)(dai)建(jian)(jian)筑(zhu)中為(wei)數不多,實(shi)屬(shu)珍貴。二是(shi)(shi)北宋(song)建(jian)(jian)中靖(jing)國元(yuan)年(nian)(1101)重(zhong)修(xiu)(xiu)(xiu)碑(bei)中記(ji)(ji)載,在宋(song)代(dai)(dai)重(zhong)修(xiu)(xiu)(xiu)圣母殿的(de)(de)(de)(de)同(tong)時就創(chuang)建(jian)(jian)了(le)舞(wu)(wu)樓。這說(shuo)明在宋(song)代(dai)(dai)戲劇藝術和舞(wu)(wu)蹈藝術就已經發展(zhan)(zhan)到了(le)一(yi)定的(de)(de)(de)(de)程(cheng)度,并且(qie)與(yu)宗教文(wen)化的(de)(de)(de)(de)發展(zhan)(zhan)結合在一(yi)起(qi)(qi),互為(wei)依存,共同(tong)發展(zhan)(zhan)。記(ji)(ji)載戲劇舞(wu)(wu)臺的(de)(de)(de)(de)碑(bei)刻(ke),在我省(sheng)及(ji)國內(nei)極為(wei)少見。目前所知除沁縣城內(nei)關帝廟(miao)宋(song)代(dai)(dai)建(jian)(jian)起(qi)(qi)戲臺的(de)(de)(de)(de)記(ji)(ji)載外,就數平順九(jiu)天(tian)圣母廟(miao)了(le)。三(san)是(shi)(shi)獻亭(ting)作廡殿頂(ding)形制的(de)(de)(de)(de)也尚屬(shu)少見,這是(shi)(shi)超規(gui)模的(de)(de)(de)(de)設計與(yu)安(an)排。九(jiu)天(tian)圣母廟(miao),作為(wei)山西(xi)省(sheng)重(zhong)點文(wen)物保護單(dan)位之一(yi),具有重(zhong)要的(de)(de)(de)(de)保護與(yu)研究價值。
