阿魯渾薩理,畏兀人。祖阿臺薩理,當太祖定西域還時,因從至燕。會畏兀國王亦都護請于朝,盡歸其民,詔許之,遂復西還。精佛氏學。生乞臺薩理,襲先業,通經、律、論。業既成,師名之曰萬全。至元十二年,入為釋教都總統,拜正議大夫、同知總制院事,加資德大夫、統制使。年七十卒。子三人:長曰畏兀兒薩理,累官資德大夫、中(zhong)書右(you)丞(cheng)、行泉府太卿;季曰島瓦赤薩理;阿魯渾薩理,其(qi)中(zhong)子也,以(yi)父字為全氏(shi),幼(you)聰慧(hui),受業于(yu)國(guo)師八哈思巴,既通(tong)其(qi)學(xue),且(qie)解諸國(guo)語。世(shi)祖聞(wen)其(qi)材,俾(bi)習中(zhong)國(guo)之學(xue),于(yu)是經、史、百家及陰陽、歷數、圖(tu)緯、方(fang)技之說皆通(tong)習之。后(hou)事(shi)裕(yu)宗,入宿衛(wei),深見器重。
至元二十年,有(you)西(xi)域僧自言能知天象,譯者皆(jie)莫能通其(qi)(qi)說。帝(di)(di)問左右,誰可使(shi)者。侍(shi)臣脫烈對(dui)曰(yue):“阿魯渾薩(sa)理可。”即召(zhao)(zhao)與(yu)論難(nan),僧大屈服。帝(di)(di)悅,令宿衛內朝(chao)。會有(you)江南(nan)人言宋宗室反者,命(ming)遣使(shi)捕至闕下。使(shi)已發(fa),阿魯渾薩(sa)理趣(qu)入諫曰(yue):“言者必妄,使(shi)不(bu)可遣。”帝(di)(di)曰(yue):“卿何(he)以(yi)(yi)言之(zhi)?”對(dui)曰(yue):“若果反,郡(jun)(jun)縣(xian)何(he)以(yi)(yi)不(bu)知?言者不(bu)由(you)郡(jun)(jun)縣(xian),而言之(zhi)闕庭,必其(qi)(qi)仇也。且江南(nan)初定,民疑未附,一(yi)旦以(yi)(yi)小(xiao)民浮言輒(zhe)捕之(zhi),恐(kong)人人自危,徒中言者之(zhi)計。”帝(di)(di)悟,立(li)召(zhao)(zhao)使(shi)者還,俾械系言者下郡(jun)(jun)治之(zhi),言者立(li)伏,果以(yi)(yi)嘗貸錢(qian)不(bu)從誣之(zhi)。帝(di)(di)曰(yue):“非卿言,幾誤,但恨用卿晚耳。”自是命(ming)日侍(shi)左右。
二(er)十(shi)一年,擢朝列大(da)夫、左(zuo)侍儀(yi)奉御(yu)。遂勸帝(di)(di)治(zhi)天(tian)下必(bi)用儒術,宜招致山澤道藝之(zhi)士(shi)(shi),以備任使。帝(di)(di)嘉納之(zhi),遣(qian)使求賢,置集賢館(guan)以待之(zhi)。秋九月,命領(ling)館(guan)事(shi)(shi),阿魯(lu)渾薩理(li)(li)曰:“陛下初置集賢以待士(shi)(shi),宜擇重望(wang)大(da)臣(chen)領(ling)之(zhi),以新(xin)觀(guan)聽。”請(qing)以司徒撒里蠻領(ling)其(qi)(qi)(qi)事(shi)(shi),帝(di)(di)從之(zhi)。仍(reng)以阿魯(lu)渾薩理(li)(li)為中(zhong)順大(da)夫、集賢館(guan)學(xue)士(shi)(shi),兼太(tai)史院事(shi)(shi),仍(reng)兼左(zuo)侍儀(yi)奉御(yu)。士(shi)(shi)之(zhi)應(ying)詔者,盡命館(guan)谷之(zhi),凡(fan)飲食供(gong)帳,車服(fu)之(zhi)盛,皆喜過望(wang)。其(qi)(qi)(qi)弗稱旨者,亦請(qing)加賚而(er)遣(qian)之(zhi)。有(you)官于宣徽者,欲(yu)(yu)陰敗其(qi)(qi)(qi)事(shi)(shi),故盛陳所給廩(lin)餼于內前,冀帝(di)(di)見之(zhi)。帝(di)(di)果過而(er)問焉,對(dui)曰:“此(ci)一士(shi)(shi)之(zhi)日給也。”帝(di)(di)怒曰:“汝(ru)欲(yu)(yu)使朕見而(er)損之(zhi)乎?十(shi)倍此(ci)以待天(tian)下士(shi)(shi),猶恐不至,況欲(yu)(yu)損之(zhi),誰肯至者。”阿魯(lu)渾薩理(li)(li)又言(yan)于帝(di)(di)曰:“國(guo)學(xue)人才之(zhi)本,立國(guo)子監(jian),置博士(shi)(shi)弟(di)子員(yuan),宜優其(qi)(qi)(qi)廩(lin)餼,使學(xue)者日盛。”從之(zhi)。二(er)十(shi)二(er)年夏六月,遷(qian)嘉議大(da)夫。二(er)十(shi)三年,進(jin)集賢大(da)學(xue)士(shi)(shi)、中(zhong)奉大(da)夫。
二(er)十四年春,立(li)(li)尚書省,桑(sang)(sang)哥(ge)(ge)(ge)用事(shi),詔阿魯(lu)渾(hun)薩理與同視事(shi),固辭(ci),不(bu)(bu)許,授資德大夫、尚書右丞,繼拜榮祿大夫、平章政(zheng)事(shi)。桑(sang)(sang)哥(ge)(ge)(ge)為政(zheng)暴橫,且進其(qi)黨與。阿魯(lu)渾(hun)薩理數切諍之,久(jiu)與乖剌(la),惟(wei)以廉正自(zi)(zi)持。桑(sang)(sang)哥(ge)(ge)(ge)奏立(li)(li)征理司,理天(tian)(tian)下逋欠,使者相(xiang)望于道,所(suo)(suo)在囹圄皆滿(man),道路(lu)側目,無(wu)(wu)敢(gan)言(yan)者。會地震北京,阿魯(lu)渾(hun)薩理請罷征理司,以塞天(tian)(tian)變。詔下之日,百姓相(xiang)慶。未(wei)幾,桑(sang)(sang)哥(ge)(ge)(ge)敗,以連坐,亦籍其(qi)產(chan)。帝問:“桑(sang)(sang)哥(ge)(ge)(ge)為政(zheng)如(ru)此,卿何(he)故無(wu)(wu)一言(yan)?”對曰(yue):“臣(chen)(chen)未(wei)嘗不(bu)(bu)言(yan),顧言(yan)不(bu)(bu)用耳。陛(bi)下方信任桑(sang)(sang)哥(ge)(ge)(ge)甚(shen)(shen),彼(bi)(bi)所(suo)(suo)忌獨臣(chen)(chen),臣(chen)(chen)數言(yan)不(bu)(bu)行(xing),若(ruo)抱柴救火,只益其(qi)暴,不(bu)(bu)若(ruo)彌(mi)縫(feng)其(qi)間,使無(wu)(wu)傷國(guo)家大本,陛(bi)下久(jiu)必自(zi)(zi)悟也(ye)。”帝亦以為然(ran),且曰(yue):“吾甚(shen)(shen)愧(kui)卿。”桑(sang)(sang)哥(ge)(ge)(ge)臨刑,吏猶以阿魯(lu)渾(hun)薩理為問,桑(sang)(sang)哥(ge)(ge)(ge)曰(yue):“我惟(wei)不(bu)(bu)用其(qi)言(yan),故至于敗,彼(bi)(bi)何(he)與焉。”帝益信其(qi)無(wu)(wu)罪,詔還(huan)所(suo)(suo)籍財產(chan),仍遣張九思(si)賜以金(jin)帛(bo),辭(ci)不(bu)(bu)受。
二十八年(nian)秋,乞罷(ba)政(zheng)(zheng)事,并免太(tai)(tai)史(shi)院(yuan)(yuan)使,詔以(yi)為集賢(xian)大(da)(da)學士(shi)。司天劉監丞言(yan)(yan)(yan),阿魯(lu)渾薩(sa)理(li)(li)(li)在太(tai)(tai)史(shi)院(yuan)(yuan)時,數(shu)言(yan)(yan)(yan)國家災祥事,大(da)(da)不敬,請下吏治。帝大(da)(da)怒(nu),以(yi)為誹(fei)謗大(da)(da)臣(chen)(chen),當(dang)抵罪。阿魯(lu)渾薩(sa)理(li)(li)(li)頓首(shou)謝曰(yue)(yue):“臣(chen)(chen)不佞,賴陛下天地含容之德,雖(sui)萬死莫(mo)報。然欲致言(yan)(yan)(yan)者(zhe)(zhe)罪,臣(chen)(chen)恐(kong)自是(shi)(shi)無(wu)(wu)為陛下言(yan)(yan)(yan)事者(zhe)(zhe)。”力(li)爭之,乃(nai)(nai)得(de)釋。帝曰(yue)(yue):“卿(qing)真(zhen)長者(zhe)(zhe)。”后雖(sui)罷(ba)政(zheng)(zheng),或通(tong)夕(xi)召(zhao)入論(lun)事,知無(wu)(wu)不言(yan)(yan)(yan)。三十年(nian),復(fu)領太(tai)(tai)史(shi)院(yuan)(yuan)事。明(ming)年(nian),帝崩,成宗(zong)在邊(bian),裕(yu)宗(zong)太(tai)(tai)后命為書趣成宗(zong)入正大(da)(da)位,又(you)命率翰林(lin)、集賢(xian)、禮官備禮冊命。明(ming)年(nian)春,加(jia)守司徒、集賢(xian)院(yuan)(yuan)使,領太(tai)(tai)史(shi)院(yuan)(yuan)事。初,裕(yu)宗(zong)即(ji)世,世祖欲定(ding)皇(huang)太(tai)(tai)子,未知所立,以(yi)問阿魯(lu)渾薩(sa)理(li)(li)(li),即(ji)以(yi)成宗(zong)為封,且(qie)言(yan)(yan)(yan)成宗(zong)仁孝恭儉,宜立,于(yu)是(shi)(shi)大(da)(da)計乃(nai)(nai)決(jue),成宗(zong)及裕(yu)宗(zong)皇(huang)后皆莫(mo)之知也(ye)。數(shu)召(zhao)阿魯(lu)渾薩(sa)理(li)(li)(li)不往,成宗(zong)撫軍北邊(bian),帝遣阿魯(lu)渾薩(sa)理(li)(li)(li)奉皇(huang)太(tai)(tai)子寶于(yu)成宗(zong),乃(nai)(nai)一(yi)至其(qi)邸。及即(ji)位,語(yu)阿魯(lu)渾薩(sa)理(li)(li)(li)曰(yue)(yue):“朕在潛(qian)邸,誰(shui)不愿事朕者(zhe)(zhe),惟卿(qing)雖(sui)召(zhao)不至,今乃(nai)(nai)知卿(qing)真(zhen)得(de)大(da)(da)臣(chen)(chen)體。”自是(shi)(shi)招對不明(ming),賜坐視諸侯(hou)王等。嘗語(yu)左右曰(yue)(yue):“若全(quan)(quan)平(ping)章者(zhe)(zhe),真(zhen)全(quan)(quan)材也(ye),于(yu)今殆(dai)無(wu)(wu)其(qi)比。”大(da)(da)德三年(nian),復(fu)拜中書平(ping)章政(zheng)(zheng)事。十一(yi)年(nian),薨(hong),年(nian)六十有三。延祐四年(nian),贈推忠佐理(li)(li)(li)翊亮功(gong)臣(chen)(chen)、太(tai)(tai)師、開府儀同三司、上柱國,追(zhui)封趙國公(gong),謚文定(ding)。
子(zi)三人:長岳(yue)柱;次久著,終(zhong)翰林侍讀學士;次買(mai)住,蚤(zao)卒。岳(yue)柱自有傳。阿臺薩(sa)理贈保德功臣、銀青榮祿大夫、司(si)徒、柱國,追(zhui)封趙(zhao)國公(gong),謚(shi)(shi)端(duan)愿;乞臺薩(sa)理累贈純(chun)誠守(shou)正功臣、太保、儀同三司(si)、上柱國,追(zhui)封趙(zhao)國公(gong),謚(shi)(shi)通敏(min)。
岳(yue)柱字(zi)止所,一字(zi)兼山。自幼容止端嚴,性穎悟,有(you)遠識(shi)。方八歲,觀畫師何澄畫《陶母剪(jian)發圖》,岳(yue)柱指陶母手中金(jin)釧詰之(zhi)曰:“金(jin)釧可易(yi)酒,何用(yong)剪(jian)發為也?”何大(da)驚,即異(yi)之(zhi)。既長就學(xue),日記(ji)千言(yan)。年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)十八,從丞相(xiang)答失蠻備(bei)宿(su)衛(wei),出入禁中,如老成人。至大(da)元年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian),授(shou)(shou)集賢(xian)學(xue)士,階正議大(da)夫(fu),即以薦賢(xian)舉能為事。皇慶元年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian),升(sheng)中奉大(da)夫(fu)、湖南道宣慰使(shi)。日接見儒(ru)生,詢求民(min)瘼。延祐三(san)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian),進資善大(da)夫(fu)、隆禧院(yuan)使(shi)。七年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian),授(shou)(shou)太(tai)(tai)史(shi)院(yuan)使(shi)。英(ying)宗視其進止整暇(xia),顧(gu)謂參政(zheng)速速曰:“全院(yuan)使(shi)真(zhen)故家(jia)令子也。”泰定(ding)元年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian),改太(tai)(tai)常禮儀(yi)院(yuan)使(shi)。四年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian),授(shou)(shou)禮部尚書(shu),領會同館事,俄授(shou)(shou)江西等處行中書(shu)省參知(zhi)政(zheng)事。天歷元年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian),進榮(rong)祿(lu)大(da)夫(fu)、集賢(xian)大(da)學(xue)士。
至順(shun)二年,除江(jiang)西等處行中(zhong)(zhong)書省平章政事。時(shi)有(you)誣(wu)(wu)告(gao)富民負永(yong)寧王官帑錢八百余錠(ding)者,中(zhong)(zhong)書遣(qian)使(shi)(shi)諸路征(zheng)之(zhi)。使(shi)(shi)至江(jiang)西,岳(yue)(yue)柱曰(yue):“事涉誣(wu)(wu)罔(wang)(wang),不(bu)可(ke)奉命(ming)。”僚佐重違宰(zai)臣意(yi)(yi),岳(yue)(yue)柱曰(yue):“民惟邦本,傷(shang)本以(yi)斂(lian)怨,亦非宰(zai)相(xiang)(xiang)福也。”令使(shi)(shi)者以(yi)此意(yi)(yi)復(fu)(fu)命(ming)。時(shi)燕帖木兒為(wei)丞相(xiang)(xiang),聞其(qi)言(yan)(yan),感悟,命(ming)刑部詰治,得(de)(de)誣(wu)(wu)罔(wang)(wang)狀,罪誣(wu)(wu)告(gao)者若干人。宰(zai)相(xiang)(xiang)以(yi)奏,帝嘉之(zhi),特賜(si)幣帛及上尊酒。桂(gui)陽州(zhou)民張思進等,嘯聚二千余眾,州(zhou)縣不(bu)能治,廣東宣慰司請(qing)發兵(bing)(bing)捕之(zhi)。岳(yue)(yue)柱曰(yue):“有(you)司不(bu)能撫綏邊民,乃欲僥幸興兵(bing)(bing),以(yi)為(wei)民害耶?不(bu)可(ke)。”宰(zai)執皆失色(se),憲司亦以(yi)興兵(bing)(bing)不(bu)便為(wei)言(yan)(yan),岳(yue)(yue)柱終持(chi)不(bu)可(ke),遣(qian)千戶王英(ying)往(wang)問(wen)狀。英(ying)直抵賊(zei)巢,諭(yu)以(yi)禍福,賊(zei)曰(yue):“致我(wo)為(wei)非者,兩巡檢司耳,我(wo)等何敢有(you)異(yi)心(xin)哉(zai)!”諭(yu)其(qi)眾,皆使(shi)(shi)復(fu)(fu)業,一方以(yi)寧。三(san)年,遷河南(nan)江(jiang)北等處行中(zhong)(zhong)書省平章政事。旋以(yi)軍事至揚州(zhou),得(de)(de)疾,明年十二月(yue),端坐而卒(zu),年五十三(san)。
岳柱天(tian)(tian)資(zi)孝友,母弟久住(zhu)早卒,喪(sang)之盡哀。尤嗜經史,自天(tian)(tian)文(wen)、醫藥(yao)之書,無(wu)不究極。度量弘擴,有(you)欺(qi)之者,恬不為意。或問之,則(ze)曰(yue):“彼自欺(qi)也(ye),我何與焉。”母郜氏亦常稱之曰(yue):“吾子古人也(ye)。”
子四(si)人:長普達,同僉行宣政(zheng)院(yuan)事;次安僧,為久住(zhu)后(hou),章佩監丞;次仁(ren)壽,中(zhong)憲大(da)夫、長秋寺(si)卿(qing)。
