《左傳·昭(zhao)(zhao)公四年》記載,魯昭(zhao)(zhao)公四年(前538年)六月(yue),楚(chu)靈王(wang)在申舉(ju)行諸侯大(da)會(hui),會(hui)前,楚(chu)國大(da)臣(chen)椒舉(ju)聽說(shuo)會(hui)盟(meng)(meng)的(de)(de)禮(li)制(zhi)不(bu)全,就向楚(chu)靈王(wang)進(jin)言說(shuo):“現(xian)在君王(wang)剛剛獲(huo)得諸侯的(de)(de)信(xin)服(fu),在禮(li)法上一定要謹慎(shen)行事。楚(chu)國霸業能否成功(gong),都在這(zhe)次(ci)會(hui)盟(meng)(meng)上了(le)。”然后,椒舉(ju)列舉(ju)了(le)歷史(shi)上的(de)(de)幾次(ci)著名的(de)(de)諸侯大(da)會(hui):“夏啟有(you)(you)(you)鈞臺之(zhi)享,商湯有(you)(you)(you)景(jing)亳之(zhi)命,周武有(you)(you)(you)孟(meng)津之(zhi)誓,成有(you)(you)(you)岐(qi)陽(yang)之(zhi)蒐,康有(you)(you)(you)酆(feng)宮(gong)之(zhi)朝,穆有(you)(you)(you)涂山之(zhi)會(hui),齊桓有(you)(you)(you)召陵(ling)之(zhi)師,晉文有(you)(you)(you)踐土之(zhi)盟(meng)(meng)。”然后問楚(chu)靈王(wang):“你準備模仿哪一次(ci)會(hui)盟(meng)(meng)的(de)(de)禮(li)制(zhi)?”楚(chu)靈王(wang)說(shuo):“我用齊桓公召陵(ling)會(hui)盟(meng)(meng)的(de)(de)禮(li)制(zhi)。”
關于景亳(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo),歷史(shi)上說法不(bu)一(yi),杜(du)預《左傳注》認為(wei)(wei):“河(he)南(nan)鞏縣西(xi)南(nan)有(you)湯(tang)(tang)(tang)亭,或(huo)言亳(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)即偃(yan)師”,晉代的皇(huang)甫(fu)謐不(bu)同意此說,在《帝王世紀》里辨析說:“湯(tang)(tang)(tang)始居亳(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo),學者咸(xian)以亳(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)本(ben)帝嚳之墟,在《禹貢》豫州洛河(he)之間,今(jin)河(he)南(nan)偃(yan)師西(xi)二十里尸(shi)鄉(xiang)(xiang)之陽(yang)亭是(shi)(shi)也(ye)。以經考(kao)之事(shi)實(shi),甚(shen)失其正。《孟(meng)子》稱(cheng)(cheng)‘湯(tang)(tang)(tang)居亳(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo),與(yu)葛為(wei)(wei)鄰。’案《地(di)理(li)志》:‘葛,今(jin)梁(liang)國寧(ning)陵之葛鄉(xiang)(xiang)’是(shi)(shi)也(ye)。湯(tang)(tang)(tang)地(di)七(qi)十里,葛又伯(bo)(bo)耳,封域有(you)制;葛伯(bo)(bo)不(bu)祀,湯(tang)(tang)(tang)使亳(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)眾為(wei)(wei)之耕,有(you)童子餉食,葛伯(bo)(bo)奪而殺之。計(ji)寧(ning)陵至偃(yan)師八百里,而使亳(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)眾為(wei)(wei)之耕,有(you)童子餉食,非(fei)其理(li)也(ye)。今(jin)梁(liang)自(zi)有(you)二亳(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo),南(nan)亳(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)在谷(gu)熟,北(bei)亳(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)在蒙(meng),非(fei)偃(yan)師也(ye)。故古文《仲虺(hui)之誥(gao)》曰:‘乃(nai)葛伯(bo)(bo)仇(chou)餉,初征(zheng)自(zi)葛。’即《孟(meng)子》之言是(shi)(shi)也(ye)。湯(tang)(tang)(tang)又盟諸(zhu)侯(hou)于景亳(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo),然則二亳(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)皆在梁(liang)矣,《春秋》‘會于亳(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)’是(shi)(shi)也(ye)。”皇(huang)甫(fu)謐認為(wei)(wei)“谷(gu)熟為(wei)(wei)南(nan)亳(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo),即湯(tang)(tang)(tang)都也(ye)”。后(hou)來王國維在《說亳(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)》一(yi)文中經過詳細考(kao)證(zheng),認為(wei)(wei)景亳(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)就是(shi)(shi)北(bei)亳(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo),因(yin)為(wei)(wei)此地(di)有(you)景山(shan),故稱(cheng)(cheng)“景亳(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)”;又因(yin)為(wei)(wei)此地(di)古稱(cheng)(cheng)“蒙(meng)”,故又稱(cheng)(cheng)“蒙(meng)亳(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)(bo)”。
