東營市利津縣第二中學始建于1952年10月,是黃河三角洲地區建校較早的中學之一,始名為山東省墾利中學(1951年陳(chen)家莊是中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)共(gong)墾(ken)利(li)(li)(li)縣(xian)委、縣(xian)政府駐地)。1956年5月(yue)(yue)墾(ken)利(li)(li)(li)縣(xian)建制撤銷,原轄區(qu)劃屬(shu)利(li)(li)(li)津(jin)縣(xian),學校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)暫定(ding)名(ming)(ming)“陳(chen)莊中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)學”。1956年7月(yue)(yue)20日,定(ding)名(ming)(ming)為“山東(dong)省利(li)(li)(li)津(jin)縣(xian)第二中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)學”。1958年11月(yue)(yue)沾(化(hua))利(li)(li)(li)(津(jin))合并(bing)為沾化(hua)縣(xian),學校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)遂更名(ming)(ming)為“沾化(hua)縣(xian)第三(san)中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)學”。1961年9月(yue)(yue),沾利(li)(li)(li)分縣(xian),學校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)恢復(fu)“利(li)(li)(li)津(jin)縣(xian)第二中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)學”校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)名(ming)(ming)。1969年4月(yue)(yue)學校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)下(xia)放(fang)(fang)陳(chen)莊人民(min)公社(she)管理,校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)名(ming)(ming)改為“陳(chen)莊中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)學”。1969年12月(yue)(yue)學校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)復(fu)名(ming)(ming)“利(li)(li)(li)津(jin)縣(xian)第二中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)學”。1976年9月(yue)(yue),學校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)再(zai)度下(xia)放(fang)(fang)到公社(she)管理。1978年8月(yue)(yue)再(zai)次復(fu)名(ming)(ming)“利(li)(li)(li)津(jin)縣(xian)第二中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)學”并(bing)沿用至今。
學校現有58個高中教(jiao)學班,3200余名(ming)在校生。專任教(jiao)師256人,研究生學歷12人,本科244人。其(qi)中,特(te)級教(jiao)師1人,高級教(jiao)師61人,一級教(jiao)師84人,二(er)級教(jiao)師110人。

學校(xiao)地(di)(di)(di)處黃河勝(sheng)利大橋北(bei)端(duan)的省級中心鎮(zhen)——陳莊鎮(zhen),坐落于陳莊鎮(zhen)濱港(gang)路5號。學校(xiao)分南北(bei)兩院,占地(di)(di)(di)150畝,總建筑面積(ji)達7萬平方(fang)米(mi)。教室(shi)(shi)和功能室(shi)(shi)都配備了多媒體,實(shi)驗室(shi)(shi)均按國家標準(zhun)設計(ji)配備,通用(yong)(yong)技(ji)術實(shi)驗室(shi)(shi)被(bei)教育部教學儀器研(yan)究所授予“高中通用(yong)(yong)技(ji)術標準(zhun)實(shi)驗室(shi)(shi)”,音樂室(shi)(shi)、美(mei)術室(shi)(shi)、舞蹈室(shi)(shi)、歷史室(shi)(shi)、地(di)(di)(di)理室(shi)(shi)、圖書館、閱(yue)覽室(shi)(shi)等全部高標準(zhun)配備到(dao)位。

自2004年(nian)(nian)以來(lai)開展的(de)以“收集(ji)廢紙、凈化(hua)校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)園(yuan)、奉獻愛心(xin)”為主(zhu)題的(de)“青春(chun)暖流(liu)”助(zhu)學(xue)工(gong)程,十年(nian)(nian)來(lai)堅持不(bu)輟,共收集(ji)廢紙、廢瓶148噸,折合人民(min)幣16萬元,救助(zhu)貧困生800余(yu)人。團省(sheng)委、市(shi)(shi)(shi)縣關工(gong)委和(he)團委多次到校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)調(diao)研指(zhi)導,中國新聞(wen)網(wang)等(deng)多家媒體(ti)予以報道。學(xue)校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)先(xian)后承辦了全市(shi)(shi)(shi)中小(xiao)學(xue)社(she)會(hui)主(zhu)義榮辱觀教育現場會(hui)、全市(shi)(shi)(shi)高中教育教學(xue)現場交流(liu)會(hui)、全市(shi)(shi)(shi)普法現場會(hui)和(he)全縣班主(zhu)任經驗(yan)交流(liu)會(hui),被確定(ding)為“東營市(shi)(shi)(shi)德育特色重點培育學(xue)校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)”。
