廣東(dong)(dong)(dong)省(sheng)東(dong)(dong)(dong)莞(guan)(guan)市(shi)莞(guan)(guan)城中(zhong)(zhong)心小(xiao)(xiao)學(xue)(xue)創建于(yu)1906年,是(shi)首批廣東(dong)(dong)(dong)省(sheng)一級學(xue)(xue)校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao),也是(shi)東(dong)(dong)(dong)莞(guan)(guan)市(shi)較具知名度的(de)百(bai)年老校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)。學(xue)(xue)校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)正(zheng)校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)地(di)處東(dong)(dong)(dong)莞(guan)(guan)市(shi)中(zhong)(zhong)心城區萬壽路,占(zhan)地(di)面積(ji)30畝。現有60個(ge)教學(xue)(xue)班,學(xue)(xue)生2321人,教師(shi)182人。校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)正(zheng)校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)地(di)處東(dong)(dong)(dong)莞(guan)(guan)市(shi)中(zhong)(zhong)心城區萬壽路,占(zhan)地(di)面積(ji)30畝。作為(wei)莞(guan)(guan)邑大地(di)教育(yu)(yu)界(jie)的(de)“領(ling)頭羊”,中(zhong)(zhong)心小(xiao)(xiao)學(xue)(xue)是(shi)催生名校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)、孕育(yu)(yu)名師(shi)名校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)長(chang)、培育(yu)(yu)人才的(de)搖籃。自(zi)1989年至(zhi)今先(xian)后(hou)設(she)立(li)六所中(zhong)(zhong)心小(xiao)(xiao)學(xue)(xue)分校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao),即現在的(de)實驗小(xiao)(xiao)學(xue)(xue)、花(hua)園小(xiao)(xiao)學(xue)(xue)、陽(yang)光小(xiao)(xiao)學(xue)(xue)、建設(she)小(xiao)(xiao)學(xue)(xue)、步(bu)步(bu)高(gao)小(xiao)(xiao)學(xue)(xue)和今年剛組(zu)建的(de)莞(guan)(guan)城中(zhong)(zhong)心小(xiao)(xiao)學(xue)(xue)分校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao),前(qian)五所學(xue)(xue)校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)都先(xian)后(hou)發展為(wei)省(sheng)、市(shi)一級學(xue)(xue)校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)。
莞(guan)城中心(xin)小學(xue)為千年(nian)資(zi)(zi)福寺(si)遺址。宋朝(chao)大文(wen)(wen)豪蘇東坡曾落腳寺(si)中,并留下了他為東莞(guan)而(er)做(zuo)的三(san)篇(pian)文(wen)(wen)稿——《羅漢閣記》《舍(she)利塔(ta)銘》《再生柏贊(zan)》。校(xiao)(xiao)園至(zhi)今存下光緒年(nian)間所(suo)建的金剛經云石(shi)塔(ta)、資(zi)(zi)福寺(si)青(qing)石(shi)大天(tian)井、兩(liang)棵由資(zi)(zi)福寺(si)僧人(ren)所(suo)栽(zai)的500多歲(sui)的大榕樹以(yi)及(ji)清朝(chao)東莞(guan)解元祖屋,更(geng)有元朝(chao)至(zhi)正(zheng)六年(nian)所(suo)鑄的擁(yong)有七百多年(nian)歷史的至(zhi)正(zheng)大銅(tong)鐘等。校(xiao)(xiao)園古木參天(tian),綠樹成蔭(yin),寶塔(ta)與銅(tong)鐘輝映(ying),古代文(wen)(wen)化與現代文(wen)(wen)明交融(rong),育(yu)人(ren)環境(jing)優(you)美(mei)。

學(xue)(xue)校(xiao)前身為東莞高等(deng)小學(xue)(xue)堂,歷(li)經(jing)了(le)清代、民(min)國(guo)和新中(zhong)國(guo)三個歷(li)史時期。辛亥革(ge)命、五四運(yun)動、抗日救亡、中(zhong)華人民(min)共和國(guo)成立(li)以(yi)及改(gai)革(ge)開放等(deng)重(zhong)大歷(li)史事(shi)件,在中(zhong)心小學(xue)(xue)的(de)校(xiao)史中(zhong)留(liu)下了(le)深(shen)刻的(de)痕跡(ji)。百(bai)年滄桑(sang),學(xue)(xue)校(xiao)十(shi)四次易名(ming),七遷(qian)校(xiao)址,五改(gai)學(xue)(xue)制,六擴分(fen)校(xiao);二十(shi)多任(ren)校(xiao)長,數百(bai)名(ming)教(jiao)師和二萬名(ming)學(xue)(xue)子薪火(huo)相傳(chuan),創立(li)、繼承和發揚(yang)了(le)優良(liang)的(de)學(xue)(xue)校(xiao)傳(chuan)統,使(shi)之成為東莞歷(li)史悠久、較具知名(ming)度的(de)百(bai)年老校(xiao)。
