胡旦(dan)(955-1034年),渤海(hai)(今山(shan)東惠民)人,字周父,喜(xi)讀書,宋(song)太宗大平興國(guo)三年(978)戊寅科狀元(yuan)。
胡(hu)旦少(shao)有(you)才(cai)學,善于(yu)文(wen)辭。呂狀元后(hou),為(wei)將作監(jian)丞,通判升州,遷左拾遺,入值史館(guan)。因(yin)上《河(he)平頌(song)》,議論時(shi)政,忤怒(nu)太宗(zong)(zong),貶為(wei)殿(dian)中丞。后(hou)來,胡(hu)旦又上《平燕議》,建(jian)議出兵收復燕云十六州,受太宗(zong)(zong)賞(shang)識(shi),起為(wei)左補闕,復值史館(guan),遷修撰,以尚書戶部(bu)員(yuan)外郎身份知制(zhi)誥(gao)。
胡旦(dan)家境(jing)貧困,死去無錢安(an)葬,只得停棺房內,胡旦(dan)生前(qian)一好友上報(bao)朝廷,朝廷遂(sui)賜錢二十萬,使胡旦(dan)入土(tu)為安(an)。
宋太宗元(yuan)(yuan)年(nian),有(you)一(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)書(shu)(shu)(shu)生(sheng)到山東(dong)某縣(xian)游(you)覽(lan)。知縣(xian)大人(ren)得知該書(shu)(shu)(shu)生(sheng)頗有(you)文采(cai),便設宴款待。知縣(xian)的(de)公(gong)子很蔑視那書(shu)(shu)(shu)生(sheng),問其有(you)何(he)特(te)長(chang),書(shu)(shu)(shu)生(sheng)說工(gong)詩。公(gong)子便讓他誦(song)讀一(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)首(shou)(shou),書(shu)(shu)(shu)生(sheng)誦(song)了一(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)首(shou)(shou),最(zui)后一(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)句是:“挑盡寒燈夢不(bu)成。”公(gong)子一(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)聽(ting),大笑(xiao)說:“此乃一(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)瞌睡漢。”書(shu)(shu)(shu)生(sheng)十分氣憤。這(zhe)書(shu)(shu)(shu)生(sheng)便是呂(lv)蒙正(zheng),第(di)(di)二(er)年(nian),呂(lv)蒙正(zheng)一(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)舉奪魁。他寫信給(gei)那公(gong)子:“瞌睡漢如今中了狀(zhuang)元(yuan)(yuan)啦(la)。”公(gong)子看了他的(de)信,冷笑(xiao)一(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)聲:“待我明年(nian)第(di)(di)二(er)人(ren)及第(di)(di),輸你一(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)籌。”第(di)(di)二(er)年(nian),新科狀(zhuang)元(yuan)(yuan)正(zheng)是這(zhe)位公(gong)子——胡旦(dan)。綜觀科舉史,有(you)如此自信者,胡旦(dan)當屬第(di)(di)一(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)。
真宗時拜吏部(bu)侍郎,后以病請辭,遵旨薦寇準(zhun)以代(dai)己職。
胡(hu)量喜(xi)讀(du)書,失明(ming)后,仍令人(ren)朗(lang)讀(du)經(jing)史。晚年(nian)臧否(fou)人(ren)物,議論(lun)時政(zheng)之(zhi)病人(ren)依舊,被時論(lun)所鄙薄。胡(hu)旦(dan)學識淵博(bo),著述(shu)甚三,有《漢春秋》、《五(wu)代史略》、《將帥要略》、《演圣通訟》、《唐乘》、《家傳(chuan)》三百余卷傳(chuan)世。曾(ceng)制一大硯(yan),方(fang)五(wu)六尺,上刻“胡(hu)旦(dan)修(xiu)漢春秋硯(yan)”字樣埋(mai)入地(di)下(xia),以傳(chuan)后世。
《義門記》
易曰(yue):立天(tian)之(zhi)(zhi)道,曰(yue)陰與(yu)陽;立地(di)之(zhi)(zhi)道,曰(yue)柔與(yu)剛(gang);立人(ren)(ren)之(zhi)(zhi)道,曰(yue)仁(ren)與(yu)義(yi)。陰陽運(yun)化,天(tian)之(zhi)(zhi)全功(gong)也;剛(gang)柔成(cheng)形,地(di)之(zhi)(zhi)全德(de)也;仁(ren)義(yi)厲教(jiao)(jiao),人(ren)(ren)之(zhi)(zhi)全行也。故古之(zhi)(zhi)圣(sheng)王,則乎天(tian),法乎地(di),理(li)乎人(ren)(ren)。堯(yao)舜帥天(tian)下(xia)以仁(ren),湯武(wu)帥天(tian)下(xia)以義(yi)。義(yi)也者,仁(ren)之(zhi)(zhi)基(ji)、行之(zhi)(zhi)本也。所以敦九族、協萬邦(bang)、厚(hou)人(ren)(ren)倫、美風俗(su)者也。周(zhou)德(de)方盛,文王化行,關雎樂(le)而不淫,螽斯仁(ren)而不姤,子孫眾多,流(liu)于(yu)歌(ge)詠。其詩(shi)曰(yue):“螽斯羽詵(shen)詵(shen)兮,宜爾子孫振(zhen)振(zhen)兮。”內崇親戚,外樹聲教(jiao)(jiao)。聲教(jiao)(jiao)所被,由家(jia)而國(guo)。其詩(shi)曰(yue):“刑于(yu)寡妻,至于(yu)兄弟,以御于(yu)家(jia)邦(bang)。”然戰國(guo)亡親,秦廢諸子,漢滅親王,魏則聚鄴以終(zhong)亡,晉則分藩以篡(cuan)弒,迨夫隋唐失綱,皆無足尚我太(tai)宗(zong)圣(sheng)德(de)隆盛,人(ren)(ren)民親睦(mu)。

仲之(zhi)子(zi)崇,乃立(li)家(jia)(jia)(jia)法垂示(shi)將來(lai)。故自(zi)序(xu)云(yun):我家(jia)(jia)(jia)襲秘監(jian)之(zhi)累功,承著作(zuo)之(zhi)遺訓,代傳(chuan)孝弟,業(ye)繼典墳。由是子(zi)孫(sun)益多,上下(xia)和睦。然云(yun)礽既遠愚不同,茍無(wu)敦睦之(zhi)方,慮(lv)乖(guai)孝友(you)之(zhi)訓。今繩之(zhi)以(yi)(yi)(yi)規(gui)矩,則(ze)序(xu)之(zhi)以(yi)(yi)(yi)尊卑之(zhi)分(fen)。推功任(ren)能,懲惡勸善(shan),下(xia)令子(zi)孫(sun)世守家(jia)(jia)(jia)規(gui),永敦和睦。于(yu)是立(li)主事以(yi)(yi)(yi)專(zhuan)家(jia)(jia)(jia)政,置庫(ku)司(si)(si)以(yi)(yi)(yi)掌家(jia)(jia)(jia)財(cai),立(li)莊長以(yi)(yi)(yi)督租賦(fu),勘司(si)(si)以(yi)(yi)(yi)序(xu)男女,家(jia)(jia)(jia)塾以(yi)(yi)(yi)教(jiao)童稚,道院(yuan)以(yi)(yi)(yi)業(ye)焚修,巫祝以(yi)(yi)(yi)備禱祈,醫師以(yi)(yi)(yi)供藥石,匠作(zuo)以(yi)(yi)(yi)資器用,辟書院(yuan)以(yi)(yi)(yi)待學(xue)者,構(gou)廨宇以(yi)(yi)(yi)奉(feng)公門,其(qi)余酒(jiu)漿(jiang)鹽米之(zhi)儲、衣(yi)履(lv)笄(ji)箱之(zhi)用、三時飲食之(zhi)節、四時晏會之(zhi)期(qi)、長幼出入(ru)之(zhi)儀、晨昏定省之(zhi)禮(li)、婚(hun)姻吊喪、送往迎來(lai)、凡諸纖悉莫(mo)不周詳(xiang)。然而贓獲不入(ru)其(qi)門,鷹犬不為其(qi)玩,天文圖識之(zhi)學(xue)弗(fu)(fu)(fu)精,縱橫詭(gui)譎之(zhi)謀弗(fu)(fu)(fu)尚,商賈營(ying)販之(zhi)利弗(fu)(fu)(fu)習,娼優賭(du)博之(zhi)徒弗(fu)(fu)(fu)近,室無(wu)私財(cai),廚無(wu)別饌,子(zi)弟知教(jiao),內(nei)外如一。于(yu)時,崇為江州(zhou)長史,檢校散騎常侍,兼御(yu)史大夫,賜紫金魚袋。

宗(zong)(zong)法之行,始于(yu)(yu)唐(tang)昭(zhao)宗(zong)(zong)大(da)順元年(nian)(nian)(nian)庚戍(注(zhu):即公(gong)(gong)元890年(nian)(nian)(nian))也(ye),至袞為江州參軍(jun),試太(tai)常寺(si)丞(cheng),奉禮部郎,直至南唐(tang)李(li)昪(bian)旌表孝弟,標揭門(men)閭。于(yu)(yu)是(shi)陳(chen)氏(shi)(shi)(shi)特立義門(men),義門(men)之立,始于(yu)(yu)李(li)昪(bian)丁酉(you)(注(zhu):即公(gong)(gong)元937年(nian)(nian)(nian))也(ye)。昪(bian)卒(zu)煜(yu)立(注(zhu):昪(bian)卒(zu)璟(jing)立,璟(jing)故煜(yu)立。),又蠲其沿徵科役(yi)。開寶(bao)末(注(zhu):宋太(tai)祖趙匡(kuang)胤年(nian)(nian)(nian)號(hao),即公(gong)(gong)元975年(nian)(nian)(nian)),太(tai)平興國七年(nian)(nian)(nian)(注(zhu):即公(gong)(gong)元982),右(you)補闕直史館張齊(qi)賢為轉運使,奏言“陳(chen)氏(shi)(shi)(shi)屢世義門(men),全家(jia)孝行,在煜(yu)時尚蒙蠲恤,于(yu)(yu)圣朝豈(qi)令(ling)徵收(shou)?宜免本(ben)戶沿徵雜派,庶彰大(da)化(hua)。”上可其奏。淳(chun)化(hua)初,殿(dian)中丞(cheng)相唐(tang)戩理江州事,又奏“陳(chen)氏(shi)(shi)(shi)一宗(zong)(zong)骨肉千(qian)口,近年(nian)(nian)(nian)乏(fa)食,饑貧(pin)難濟,請每春貸粟(su)二(er)(er)千(qian)石以贍之,(俟豐(feng)年(nian)(nian)(nian)還(huan)官)”。(詔可)。至道中(注(zhu):宋太(tai)宗(zong)(zong)趙光(guang)義年(nian)(nian)(nian)號(hao),即公(gong)(gong)元995-997年(nian)(nian)(nian)),太(tai)宗(zong)(zong)遣內侍裴愈(yu)赍御(yu)書散三吳名(ming)山寺(si)觀,德義之家(jia)皆賜一本(ben),陳(chen)氏(shi)(shi)(shi)所得凡(fan)三十三卷(juan),藏(zang)于(yu)(yu)家(jia)。愈(yu)復上《陳(chen)氏(shi)(shi)(shi)家(jia)法》二(er)(er)篇,太(tai)宗(zong)(zong)曰:“天下有(you)此人家(jia),真良家(jia)也(ye)!”敕愈(yu)送(song)史館繕寫,賜王公(gong)(gong)各一本(ben),使知義門(men)傳家(jia)之法。愈(yu)遂言:陳(chen)氏(shi)(shi)(shi)每歲(sui)租米(mi)四千(qian)斛,距(ju)江州二(er)(er)百(bai)余里,舟車不通,常告(gao)二(er)(er)千(qian)斛腳值(zhi)。若就德安(an)倉輸納,以充軍(jun)馬驛料,則天恩加(jia)惠義門(men)者厚矣。太(tai)宗(zong)(zong)許之。
袞立義門坊;昉主家三十五年;崇為(wei)(wei)長吏(li);勛為(wei)(wei)蒲圻(qi)令(ling);玫為(wei)(wei)德化令(ling);禮為(wei)(wei)吉安(an)令(ling);袞為(wei)(wei)司戶參軍;昉為(wei)(wei)太仆少卿(qing);恭為(wei)(wei)洪都掌(zhang)書院;密知(zhi)武陽事;皆為(wei)(wei)衣冠之(zhi)俊者也(ye)(ye)。秩為(wei)(wei)都知(zhi)兵馬使(shi);讓為(wei)(wei)衙前兵馬使(shi);繆、渥、藹為(wei)(wei)節度(du)(du)押衙使(shi);郜為(wei)(wei)蒙義軍都頭使(shi);輝為(wei)(wei)討擘副(fu)使(shi);涼為(wei)(wei)教練(lian)使(shi);皆為(wei)(wei)官職(zhi)之(zhi)選(xuan)者也(ye)(ye)。若(ruo)(ruo)昭(zhao)、若(ruo)(ruo)昱、若(ruo)(ruo)琛、若(ruo)(ruo)傳、若(ruo)(ruo)遜、若(ruo)(ruo)儼、若(ruo)(ruo)度(du)(du)、若(ruo)(ruo)漸、若(ruo)(ruo)永(yong)、若(ruo)(ruo)續、延年并登進(jin)士第;而(er)喬省象誥策碧岳位諗延芝俱擅詞場,皆為(wei)(wei)文(wen)學之(zhi)英才也(ye)(ye)。斯乃五世(shi)而(er)昌,八世(shi)而(er)大,非獨田完之(zhi)興齊,實乃陳(chen)氏之(zhi)永(yong)世(shi)也(ye)(ye)。
夫天地一(yi)(yi)氣也(ye)(ye)(ye),萬民(min)一(yi)(yi)姓也(ye)(ye)(ye),政教(jiao)一(yi)(yi)體也(ye)(ye)(ye)。若(ruo)清(qing)若(ruo)濁者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe),為(wei)善(shan)(shan)為(wei)惡者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe),好仁好義(yi)(yi)者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe),固有(you)不同。余觀(guan)陳(chen)氏(shi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)宗,清(qing)而純(chun),善(shan)(shan)而和(he)(he),義(yi)(yi)而正(zheng);才者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)不矜,技者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)不炫,清(qing)純(chun)者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)也(ye)(ye)(ye);富而不驕,貧(pin)而不怨,善(shan)(shan)和(he)(he)者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)也(ye)(ye)(ye);有(you)勇不犯(fan),有(you)剛(gang)不折(zhe),義(yi)(yi)正(zheng)者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)也(ye)(ye)(ye)。吾以為(wei)士大夫之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)族(zu),未有(you)若(ruo)陳(chen)宗者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)也(ye)(ye)(ye)。謂其敦堯(yao)舜之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)道,循湯武(wu)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)法,受(shou)文王(wang)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)化,承召公(gong)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)訓(xun)歟(yu)!不然,何其義(yi)(yi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)若(ruo)是(shi)哉!天兵討江州也(ye)(ye)(ye),陳(chen)氏(shi)昆弟七人,皆在圍(wei)中。及城破,軍民(min)殺傷者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)殆盡,而七人異(yi)處同歸,一(yi)(yi)無(wu)所傷,義(yi)(yi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)感(gan)也(ye)(ye)(ye)。至道以來(lai),仍歲(sui)饑荒,陳(chen)氏(shi)舉家啜粥,雜以藻菜(cai),怡然相(xiang)安,義(yi)(yi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)至也(ye)(ye)(ye)。丁酉歲(sui)(997)夏,予以兵部尚書掌綸誥持(chi)史(shi)筆(bi),坐命(ming)詞不當(dang),連貶嶺表。己亥(hai)歲(sui)(999),會赦(she)東歸。過潯(xun)陽,登盧峰,得(de)諸陳(chen)氏(shi)宅(zhai),覽世(shi)譜,閱家法,詢事實(shi),具知其狀,因(yin)為(wei)記(ji),庶乎傳之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)四方(fang),留示來(lai)葉者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)。
辭曰:舜(shun)有(you)至德,其(qi)后(hou)必(bi)昌(chang)。曄(ye)曄(ye)陳氏,宗義刮飏。家法式定,義門表德。如(ru)何在上,示(shi)為(wei)世(shi)則(ze)(ze)(ze)。古人有(you)言,家法如(ru)官。官若(ruo)為(wei)義,其(qi)為(wei)必(bi)安。義則(ze)(ze)(ze)非(fei)利,利則(ze)(ze)(ze)非(fei)義。義利之途,人思共致。尚義則(ze)(ze)(ze)崇,尚利則(ze)(ze)(ze)窮(qiong)。伊惟陳宗,世(shi)襲義風。替昪偽煜,猶然敦(dun)助(zhu)。逮我圣宗,恩(en)惠駢屬。大宋萬年,子孫億千。德澤旁流,陳宗綿(mian)綿(mian)。
