歷史沿革
最早的(de)城隍廟見(jian)于三國吳赤(chi)烏二年(nian)(239)建的(de)蕪湖(hu)城隍廟。歷史(shi)上有唐人張說(shuo)、
李(li)德裕、李(li)陽(yang)冰、杜(du)牧等祭(ji)祀(si)(si)(si)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)神(shen)的文(wen)獻記載。宋代以后,城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)開(kai)始人格化(hua)、多以去(qu)世(shi)后的英雄或(huo)名臣奉為(wei)(wei)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)神(shen),如蘇州(zhou)(zhou)(zhou)祀(si)(si)(si)戰國時春申君黃歇,上海(hai)祀(si)(si)(si)秦裕伯,北京祀(si)(si)(si)文(wen)天祥(xiang)、楊椒山,杭州(zhou)(zhou)(zhou)祀(si)(si)(si)周(zhou)新,會稽祀(si)(si)(si)龐王(wang),南寧、桂(gui)林祀(si)(si)(si)蘇緘(jian)等。后唐末(mo)帝清泰元年(934)封(feng)(feng)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)為(wei)(wei)王(wang)爵。明太(tai)(tai)(tai)祖洪武(wu)元年(1368)則下旨封(feng)(feng)開(kai)封(feng)(feng)、臨(lin)濠、束和、平(ping)滁四城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)的城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)為(wei)(wei)王(wang),職位(wei)正(zheng)一品,與人間的太(tai)(tai)(tai)師、太(tai)(tai)(tai)傅、太(tai)(tai)(tai)保“三公(gong)”和左、右丞相平(ping)級(ji),又封(feng)(feng)各府、州(zhou)(zhou)(zhou)、縣(xian)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)為(wei)(wei)公(gong)、侯、伯,即(ji)府城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)為(wei)(wei)監(jian)察(cha)(cha)司(si)氏(shi)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)威靈公(gong),職位(wei)正(zheng)二品;州(zhou)(zhou)(zhou)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)為(wei)(wei)監(jian)察(cha)(cha)司(si)氏(shi)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)顯佑侯,職位(wei)正(zheng)三品;縣(xian)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)為(wei)(wei)監(jian)察(cha)(cha)司(si)氏(shi)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)顯佑伯,職位(wei)正(zheng)四品,并且(qie)重(zhong)建各地城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)廟(miao),規模高(gao)廣與當地官(guan)署衙門(men)完全(quan)一樣,還(huan)按(an)級(ji)別配制冕旒哀服。明太(tai)(tai)(tai)祖洪武(wu)三年(1370)正(zheng)祀(si)(si)(si)典,詔(zhao)去(qu)封(feng)(feng)號,只(zhi)稱“某府或(huo)某縣(xian)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)之神(shen),又令各地城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)廟(miao)不得(de)雜(za)祀(si)(si)(si)其他之神(shen)。據說明太(tai)(tai)(tai)祖朱元璋出生在土地廟(miao)里,所以他對(dui)土地廟(miao)以及土地的“上司(si)”城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)極為(wei)(wei)崇敬。明孝宗年間(1488—1506),莆田(tian)抗元英雄陳(chen)文(wen)龍(long)(1232—1277)被封(feng)(feng)為(wei)(wei)福州(zhou)(zhou)(zhou)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)爺,其從叔抗元英雄陳(chen)瓚(1232—1277)被封(feng)(feng)為(wei)(wei)興化(hua)府城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)爺。
在原(yuan)莆(pu)田(tian)縣內,有(you)創建于(yu)明洪武二年(1369),位(wei)于(yu)城內長壽街廟(miao)前巷的興(xing)化府城隍(huang)廟(miao),由照墻、外埕、大(da)(da)(da)門(men)、甬道、儀門(men)、中門(men)、正殿(dian)、后殿(dian)及兩廂(xiang)護厝等(deng)組成(cheng),占地(di)面積(ji)24畝(mu)(一說18畝(mu)),與興(xing)化府衙(ya)(ya),莆(pu)田(tian)縣衙(ya)(ya)一樣(yang)大(da)(da)(da),為(wei)莆(pu)田(tian)五大(da)(da)(da)宮廟(miao)之一;主(zhu)祀城隍(huang)大(da)(da)(da)神陳(chen)瓚(zan),俗稱城隍(huang)爺。該廟(miao)現(xian)為(wei)福建省(sheng)級(ji)重點文(wen)物(wu)保護單位(wei)。
歷史文化
這(zhe)是一座(zuo)典型的(de)(de)漢(han)式寺(si)廟(miao),格局簡煉。一如隨(sui)意散(san)落在(zai)江南某個小鎮的(de)(de)庵院廟(miao)堂(tang),但(dan)是稍(shao)加留(liu)意便(bian)可(ke)看(kan)出這(zhe)座(zuo)寺(si)廟(miao)的(de)(de)氣度與眾不同。首先(xian)廟(miao)前高懸的(de)(de)道幡說明這(zhe)是一座(zuo)道教(jiao)寺(si)廟(miao),這(zhe)在(zai)熱(re)河街上可(ke)謂鳳(feng)毛麟角。遍布避暑山莊(zhuang)周圍的(de)(de)多(duo)為藏傳佛教(jiao)寺(si)廟(miao),而修(xiu)建這(zhe)樣一座(zuo)道教(jiao)寺(si)廟(miao)則(ze)是出于對(dui)漢(han)族群眾宗教(jiao)信(xin)仰(yang)的(de)(de)尊重,同時由乾(qian)隆(long)欽定“熱(re)河都(dou)城隍(huang)廟(miao)”似可(ke)說明古(gu)熱(re)河在(zai)當時社會的(de)(de)政治(zhi)地位。

城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang),起源于(yu)古(gu)代的(de)(de)(de)水(隍(huang))庸(城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng))的(de)(de)(de)祭祀,為(wei)(wei)《周宮》八神(shen)(shen)(shen)之(zhi)一(yi)。“城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)”原指(zhi)挖土筑的(de)(de)(de)高墻(qiang),“隍(huang)”原指(zhi)沒有水的(de)(de)(de)護(hu)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)壕。古(gu)人(ren)(ren)造(zao)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)是為(wei)(wei)了保(bao)(bao)護(hu)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)內百姓的(de)(de)(de)安全,所以修了高大(da)的(de)(de)(de)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)墻(qiang)、城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)樓、城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)門以及壕城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)、護(hu)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)河。他們認為(wei)(wei)與人(ren)(ren)們的(de)(de)(de)生活、生產(chan)安全密切相關的(de)(de)(de)事物(wu),都有神(shen)(shen)(shen)在,于(yu)是城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)和隍(huang)被神(shen)(shen)(shen)化為(wei)(wei)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)市的(de)(de)(de)保(bao)(bao)護(hu)神(shen)(shen)(shen)。道教把它納(na)入(ru)自己的(de)(de)(de)神(shen)(shen)(shen)系,稱它是剪除(chu)兇惡、保(bao)(bao)國護(hu)邦之(zhi)神(shen)(shen)(shen),并管領(ling)陰間(jian)的(de)(de)(de)亡魂(hun)。

特色
城隍廟現為(wei)承德市為(wei)數不(bu)多的一家道(dao)教(jiao)寺廟,風(feng)格有(you)別于外八廟,很值得一看。這里每(mei)(mei)日上午9:00-10:00有(you)道(dao)教(jiao)法事活動,且(qie)每(mei)(mei)逢重(zhong)大道(dao)教(jiao)節(jie)日,必舉行(xing)道(dao)教(jiao)法會慶賀。
旅游交通
城隍廟位于西(xi)(xi)大街(jie)路(lu)北,出(chu)避暑山莊沿麗正門大街(jie)西(xi)(xi)行至火神廟處,右轉上西(xi)(xi)大街(jie)再走約1公里。也可乘5路(lu)、7路(lu)公交車到中醫院下車即到,乘小公共汽車或打車更(geng)為(wei)方便。
