歷史沿革
最(zui)早(zao)的城(cheng)隍廟見于三(san)國吳赤(chi)烏二年(239)建的蕪湖城(cheng)隍廟。歷史上有(you)唐人張說、
李(li)德裕、李(li)陽冰、杜(du)牧等祭祀(si)城(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)神(shen)(shen)的(de)(de)文獻記載。宋(song)代(dai)以(yi)(yi)后(hou),城(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)開始(shi)人(ren)(ren)格化、多(duo)以(yi)(yi)去世后(hou)的(de)(de)英雄(xiong)(xiong)或名臣奉為(wei)(wei)(wei)(wei)城(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)神(shen)(shen),如蘇州祀(si)戰國(guo)時春申君(jun)黃歇,上海祀(si)秦裕伯,北京(jing)祀(si)文天(tian)祥、楊(yang)椒山,杭(hang)州祀(si)周(zhou)新,會(hui)稽祀(si)龐王,南寧、桂林祀(si)蘇緘等。后(hou)唐末(mo)帝清泰元(yuan)(yuan)年(nian)(934)封城(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)為(wei)(wei)(wei)(wei)王爵。明太(tai)祖洪武元(yuan)(yuan)年(nian)(1368)則下(xia)旨封開封、臨濠、束和、平滁四城(cheng)(cheng)的(de)(de)城(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)為(wei)(wei)(wei)(wei)王,職(zhi)(zhi)位(wei)正(zheng)一(yi)品,與人(ren)(ren)間的(de)(de)太(tai)師、太(tai)傅、太(tai)保“三公”和左、右(you)丞相平級(ji),又封各府(fu)(fu)、州、縣城(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)為(wei)(wei)(wei)(wei)公、侯、伯,即府(fu)(fu)城(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)為(wei)(wei)(wei)(wei)監察(cha)司(si)氏城(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)威靈公,職(zhi)(zhi)位(wei)正(zheng)二品;州城(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)為(wei)(wei)(wei)(wei)監察(cha)司(si)氏城(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)顯(xian)佑侯,職(zhi)(zhi)位(wei)正(zheng)三品;縣城(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)為(wei)(wei)(wei)(wei)監察(cha)司(si)氏城(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)顯(xian)佑伯,職(zhi)(zhi)位(wei)正(zheng)四品,并(bing)且重建(jian)各地(di)(di)城(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)廟,規模高廣與當地(di)(di)官署衙門完全一(yi)樣,還(huan)按級(ji)別配(pei)制冕旒哀(ai)服。明太(tai)祖洪武三年(nian)(1370)正(zheng)祀(si)典(dian),詔去封號,只稱“某府(fu)(fu)或某縣城(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)之神(shen)(shen),又令(ling)各地(di)(di)城(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)廟不得(de)雜祀(si)其(qi)他(ta)(ta)之神(shen)(shen)。據(ju)說(shuo)明太(tai)祖朱元(yuan)(yuan)璋出(chu)生在土地(di)(di)廟里,所以(yi)(yi)他(ta)(ta)對土地(di)(di)廟以(yi)(yi)及土地(di)(di)的(de)(de)“上司(si)”城(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)極為(wei)(wei)(wei)(wei)崇敬。明孝(xiao)宗年(nian)間(1488—1506),莆田(tian)抗(kang)元(yuan)(yuan)英雄(xiong)(xiong)陳文龍(1232—1277)被(bei)封為(wei)(wei)(wei)(wei)福州城(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)爺,其(qi)從叔抗(kang)元(yuan)(yuan)英雄(xiong)(xiong)陳瓚(1232—1277)被(bei)封為(wei)(wei)(wei)(wei)興化府(fu)(fu)城(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)爺。
在原(yuan)莆田縣內,有創建于(yu)明洪武二年(nian)(1369),位于(yu)城內長壽街廟前巷的(de)興化府(fu)城隍廟,由照(zhao)墻、外埕、大(da)(da)(da)門、甬道、儀門、中門、正(zheng)殿(dian)、后殿(dian)及兩廂護厝等組成,占(zhan)地(di)面積24畝(一(yi)說18畝),與興化府(fu)衙,莆田縣衙一(yi)樣大(da)(da)(da),為(wei)(wei)莆田五大(da)(da)(da)宮廟之一(yi);主祀(si)城隍大(da)(da)(da)神陳瓚,俗稱城隍爺。該廟現(xian)為(wei)(wei)福建省級(ji)重點文物(wu)保護單位。
歷史文化
這是一座(zuo)(zuo)典型的漢式寺廟(miao),格(ge)局簡煉(lian)。一如(ru)隨(sui)意(yi)散落在(zai)(zai)江南某(mou)個小鎮的庵院廟(miao)堂,但(dan)是稍(shao)加留意(yi)便可看出這座(zuo)(zuo)寺廟(miao)的氣度與(yu)眾(zhong)不同(tong)。首先廟(miao)前高(gao)懸的道(dao)幡(fan)說明這是一座(zuo)(zuo)道(dao)教寺廟(miao),這在(zai)(zai)熱河(he)街(jie)上可謂鳳毛麟角。遍布避暑山莊(zhuang)周圍的多為藏(zang)傳佛(fo)教寺廟(miao),而修建這樣一座(zuo)(zuo)道(dao)教寺廟(miao)則是出于對漢族群眾(zhong)宗教信仰(yang)的尊重,同(tong)時由乾隆欽定(ding)“熱河(he)都城隍廟(miao)”似可說明古熱河(he)在(zai)(zai)當時社會的政治地位。

城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang),起源于(yu)古(gu)代的水(隍(huang))庸(城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng))的祭(ji)祀,為(wei)(wei)《周(zhou)宮》八神(shen)之一。“城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)”原指挖(wa)土筑的高墻(qiang),“隍(huang)”原指沒有水的護(hu)(hu)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)壕。古(gu)人造(zao)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)是為(wei)(wei)了保(bao)護(hu)(hu)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)內百姓的安全(quan),所以修(xiu)了高大的城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)墻(qiang)、城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)樓(lou)、城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)門以及壕城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)、護(hu)(hu)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)河。他們(men)認(ren)為(wei)(wei)與人們(men)的生活(huo)、生產(chan)安全(quan)密切相關的事物,都有神(shen)在,于(yu)是城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)和隍(huang)被神(shen)化(hua)為(wei)(wei)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)市的保(bao)護(hu)(hu)神(shen)。道(dao)教把它納入(ru)自己的神(shen)系,稱它是剪(jian)除兇惡、保(bao)國護(hu)(hu)邦之神(shen),并管領陰間的亡(wang)魂。

特色
城隍廟(miao)現為承德(de)市為數(shu)不多的一家道(dao)教(jiao)寺廟(miao),風格有別(bie)于外八(ba)廟(miao),很值得一看。這里(li)每日上午(wu)9:00-10:00有道(dao)教(jiao)法事(shi)活動,且每逢重大道(dao)教(jiao)節日,必舉(ju)行道(dao)教(jiao)法會慶賀。
旅游交通
城隍(huang)廟位于西(xi)大街(jie)(jie)路(lu)北,出避暑山莊沿麗正門大街(jie)(jie)西(xi)行至火神廟處,右轉上西(xi)大街(jie)(jie)再走約(yue)1公(gong)里(li)。也可乘5路(lu)、7路(lu)公(gong)交車到(dao)中醫(yi)院下(xia)車即到(dao),乘小公(gong)共汽車或打車更為方便。
